  11. Currently in the middle of test riding a 950s while malfunctioning parts are replaced on my MTS1200s.
First impressions very positive, a better bike but maybe just maybe missing that extra punch.... which is what makes me misbehave so maybe it’s a great choice as a replacement??

Now back at base, I haven’t enjoyed a bike ride with an unfamiliar bike in years. The suspension, ergonomics, general quicker more positive , accurate handling is light years ahead of my skyhook. More comfortable seat / handlebar relationship for me, I had to put risers n my 1200, this was spot on. Seat far more comfortable and I can get a foot flat on the floor with 950, scrabble around to do that on 1200.

So it’s quicker to list what I wasn’t so so keen on. Firstly the exhaust note from the riders seat sounds asthmatic, like a Honda 700 thingy. Second was the difference in torque which is so addictive on 1200 Dukes. I think if you did a lot of 2 up riding you would notice it far more. But I don’t do much 2 up riding so not the biggest issue. The biggest issue is I think I could easily adapt to the different power delivery and characteristics, so divorce becomes the biggest issue!!

The ride was in dry and wet conditions and the bike was super in both, stuck to the road like a chewing gum. Well done Ducati on producing such a well sorted product and a big thanks to Hyside in Maldon Essex for letting me take it out for a proper test ride in far from perfect conditions, the bike was brand new with 300 miles on it.
