Coming back past Walton Bridge I saw a family just packing up a picnic they'd had on a patch of grass.. at around 5 degrees C.. Ok, so the sun was out mostly but there's some hardy souls out there.

 

Due to work commitments (Ellie is an end of life hospice care assistant) our Christmas day will be tomorrow so Carole and I are just having a quiet day together ....... and a BBQ. The lamb has been great, waygu burgers just on now. Home made spicy parsnip soup to start, yum, yum. Andy

no they looked determined to enjoy themselves despite lockdown, full admiration for that.

I've seen far far more Christmas lights on houses this year, it's like people are making more effort, more determination to do this is apparent.

 

I got a black eye last Christmas - was at a party discussing Quality Street favourites and the host's Grandma said she liked the purple ones, I said "how about a toffee finger?"
