  4. Went for a ride to Goodwood for b-fast, then had bacon & egg batty yummy plus looked at cars, had chat with people. Departed home, took wrong turn and bit later ended up in Box Hill. Had a coke. Went home got lost on the way in Richmond again!! Got back about 1430 and had a doughnut. Later did laundry and watched The hunger games now it is nothing like Logan run?! Cooked dinner, farted a bit did some internet and now going to sleep. How is that for busy day?

  5. Most excellent!
Have you managed to retain the original discs or are they 748R ones?

I'm still musing over this conversion but would ideally want to retain the original speedo drive and gauges.

  6. You found some posh forks mate? :upyeah:

  7. They are 748R ones with the 15mm offset so I keep my original front wheel.

Doing the speedo conversion isn't a problem but I've used a spacer as obviously I'm fitting the TransLogic as well and that uses a speedo sensor instead.

It was actually very easy to do - the forks go straight in. The spacers are fiddly as I sourced/made my own... a top tip is to purchase a bearing of the right size internal diameter (25mm) and width then cut the outer race off and junk the bearings ... instant spacer of the correct size!

  8. Cheers, may send you a separate pm for more info if that's ok?

It's a shame the R discs are so bloody expensive! It really pushes the cost of the conversion up!
There's an 848 complete front end for sale on here at the mo as well!

  9. No problem, just drop me a note if you need more info.

I managed to get a second-hand pair of disks for £150 off another DSC member, so it was cheaper than buying the newer wheel with disks!

  10. Are there not 5mm spacers available for the discs?

  11. Yes, but I wanted to go for the disks and not use spacers.

You will have issues with using spacers if you want to keep the speedo drive as there then isn't enough room for it!

  12. I hope you tightened up the silly nut properly......

  19. Got the dreaded MOT this week.
Ive been riding about a lot on my own as been really lacking confidence for a while now and stupid illness.
So often I have to get out on the day .... if I feel good I get out there if not :(.
Went out for a ride with someone a while ago and they knew my situation and thought it would be funny to act like a total ...co*k then nearly knocked me off , it really put me off , since heard similar from another :(
So back I went to ambling about on my own.
I got talking to someone in funny circumstances turned out he lived up the road with his family and we used to talk.
He asked me out for a ride , at first I was very nervous about going for a ride with him as we don't know each other.
Anyway we just agreed a route and off we set. Best thing I did in ages he was a star to ride with.
So much so when we finished and he had to head back home off I went again :)

We just rode about , and thats what I needed and it was a pleasure to just trot about with someone.

  20. Two weeks to go til I head off to the Czech republic, the Triumph is missing a rear shock absorber (being modified), and I've just found out the mot's run out. The tax rebate that's paying for the trip hasn't turned up yet, paperwork for the breakdown cover hasn't materialised, and I had my bank account hacked last month. All going well, then...
