Three houses were built next door to here recently which began with the demolition of a bungalow. The demolition people tied up the landline cord to our adjoining fence, as the telegraph pole is in front of us. Two years later, and none of them have connected up.
Had a drive to the smelt mill at Grinton to check out the work to rectify the flood damage from 2019. They’ve done a cracking job but couldn’t save the old tunnel unfortunately. Hopefully the mill will be safe now as there was a real danger of it collapsing. Just a short walk off the road between Grinton and Bellerby crossroads just after the new bridge at Cogden beck and worth a look if you like this type of thing.
Some of the morning was spent manhandling both the 1098R and 748R out of the dining room and onto the trailer. The rest of the morning was spent in the loft trying to find all the original parts for the 1098R that will be refitted during the belt service. Both bikes dropped off at MR and I’m back home now feeling absolutely knackered. POB Andy
First thing me and SWMBO did some planting in the garden and stopped when the heavens opened. We had torrential rain and hail for about 30 mins before it became a lot lighter. We then made a trip to the local tip to get rid of 6 large bags of garden rubbish we’d accumulated over the past week. This afternoon it’s rained on and off so I’ve spent the past 3 hours watching the first 3 episodes of series 6 of the Sopranos.
A friends daughter had her wedding there a week before the 2019 floods. Lord Peel gave them permission and they spent a week clearing out years of muck and grime it was a great day by all accounts.
