  1. WTF happening just tried to book a room in Ashford £180 for one night, cheapest I could find is Chatham miles from where I’m working. That’s more inflation than @Roadtrip MDF. 3 Months ago I could get a room for £25.:mad::mad:

  2. A lot of companies are just cashing in, would be interesting to know why they are charging so much more as its not like they manufacture a product, ever job will now cost more for a while,

  3. Greed!

  4. And trying to recoup what they lost during lockdown

  7. Mooched around Rutland water, visiting coffee shops and had a fantastic pub lunch. SWMBO has just dragged us all round 3 farm shops but now we’re back at the retreat.

Tomorrow we’re off home but we’ll be visiting our old next door neighbours 92yo mum who lives in Leicester.

  11. No mate. That’s @brettski :)

  12. visited a mate in his timber cabin yesterday which has become home to at least two Asian hornet nests..

they could be a big future problem for our honey bees apparently as will target their nests as an easy source of food.

  17. Well first thing after packing up the car to leave our chalet near Rutland water we left to visit our old neighbour’s 92yo mum at her home in Leicester. We’d not seen her for a couple of years so she seemed delighted to see us, and we were delighted to see her looking well. She now has MND so her mobility is pretty bad but her mind is as sharp as a tack!

We spent an hour and a half with her and left when her hairdresser arrived.

Now back home and trying to get some normality back. Dirty clothes in the wash etc in readiness to be packed for next weekend when we are off to Northumberland with both sons and their families :)
