  4. Today I will be starting work 4 days a week, since being made redundant last June. I decided to wait until I got what I wanted, working with who I wanted and 4 day week. This enables me to spend time pursuing other activities like continuing with Bike Shed Community Response and allows me to also spend time becoming a CBT instructor to balance out the advanced riding thingy I’m doing.
It was a gamble waiting it out, as aged 58 my job applications if opened properly go into the shredder . I feel very lucky and privileged .

  11. Loving the smell of Old World creosote, I’ve kept the faith and used creocote! I don’t know what the difference might be, but it smells the same, stains the same, dries the same and mixes with old engine oil, just as creosote always did! Many people had told me you can’t buy creosote any longer, so I was mighty pleased to discover creocote readily available and on sale at the local hardware store.

  12. Debating another bike. Always wanted an HP2 sport but also considering an earlier hayabusa.
Minded to ask how @mervyn is getting in with his HP? Having fun on it?

  14. Ruroc turned up today, I payed 220 for a blemished one in their sale. Quality is ok but I would no pay full price for one.
Hi the go pro mount and Bluetooth audio module to go with it, sound isn’t too bad but will test it more tomorrow on my commute.
Picked up a smart watch aswell, I’m very happy with the quality.

  15. Helmet style is appealing. ^^ I'd never even heard of Ruroc, they seem to go out of their way to try and create an exclusive, not easily obtainable, remote image. I had a similar experience with an LS2 helmet last year, appearance and features looked good but let down by poorly designed/poorly fitting "furniture" that wasn't that comfortable. I didn't even return it, putting it down to a hastily pursued bad experience.

  16. Ruroc appear to be online only, they certainly appear on a lot of pages I trawl. They appear to be very much appealing to riders younger than me and their designs limit their appeal for me.

If I was looking to purchase a helmet that to me shouts hoonigan I’d buy a Simpson.

  17. The look is great, and visibility is superb but the liner and just general finish is sub par, like the ls2. I’ve worn my pista gp for over 5 years now and it still feels more premium today than the new ruroc.

  18. I’m not keen on the designs, that’s why I went with raw carbon. Definitely aimed at your quad bike warriors.

  19. Because of difficult logistics we hardly ever have both sons and families together nowadays (#1 son and family lives in Helensburgh and #2 son and family lives in Leeds) so today SWMBO arranged for a professional photo shoot to be done on the beach at Embleton. Which was nice :upyeah:

Afterwards we went to a very nice pub up the coast for lunch. I had moules mariniere and frites and they were awesome! :)

And despite the weather forecast this morning the weather has been absolutely glorious yet again……22C and not a cloud in the skies. How do these meteorologists get to keep their jobs? I’m genuinely intrigued.

Now back at our holiday cottage and I need a kip :)
