Undressed the 916. About to do cambelts. In surprisingly good nick for a 23yr old bike really. Needs a deep clean. Fuel smells like its 23yrs old. Looks like i'll be using that to clean the bike. I think I may just get a lot of things replated in cadmium. Bolts etc. Some cracks round screw holes on airbox. Bit of silicon...Sorry @Ducbird no bins. But there is a fold up step ladder hanging off the wall via a rusty floor board nail. Sustainable. Nice.
Manufactured pretty much 04/97. More elephants on it than I expected. Wondering now whether to replace all the bearings. They seem okay. But 'seem' are famous last words. Whats the general likelihood of them failing? Anyone know? Should I?
