  5. Went for a walk (yesterday) around RHS Bridgewater.
The walk was cut short due to the high winds and threat of falling trees
    The spoilsports!

  6. Went to a Spanish restaurant ( last night) in town. Very popular one in the Northern Quarter and rammed busy.
Only on walking in and speaking to a member of staff did I realise I had booked it for Sunday evening by mistake!
The couple in front who were walk ins were told to come back in an hour, we however were shown to a table!

The food and atmosphere were both great as was the healthy tip I left them.

  10. I have been a little concerned about my (higher than usual) blood pressure for a while and definitely had a bit of a mmmmm moment at the doctor's on Friday when it was not good. Anyway, went out of the raz last night, had steak, beer, jigged a bit at an AC/DC tribute gig and a late night. This morning been humping bikes around in the garage and generally feeling knackered. Just done a pressure reading and it's 126/76 with a resting heart rate of 66. Not quite sure what moral is here but I'm feeling a lot happier :joy: Andy

  13. No doubt failing to fire up t'other day, is why it was initially only running on one, then intermittently on two. I thought, well, traditionally you ride at full throttle to clean the plugs.

It was interesting running on one, then the other cutting in.

By the top of Leckhampton it was running on two, except at junctions. So I got on the 417. But you can't go 165+ on the Quoon's Highway! And I don't know anyone local with a racetrack.

So, obviously, you do the full throttle thing in a low gear.

  16. We’ve had some friends come to stay for the weekend.

We went for a lovely meal last night to an Asian fusion restaurant. When we came home, SWMBO stayed up drinking wine with Darren (who’s an old colleague of hers) putting the world to rights till 2am, and was steaming drunk when she came to bed.

This morning SWMBO was really ill. Oh how I laughed :p

Then Darren and his wife, Helen, decided they’d like to go for “nice walk” so SWMBO decided we’d all go for a walk to Wolfstone Heights, which is a 2.5 mile ‘hike’ up a hill which is on average 1:4, then 2.5 miles back down.

As I don’t normally do ‘hiking’ I was not impressed, so it was then SWMBO’s turn to laugh. :(

When we got home SWMBO made us all a full English breakfast which made up for my misery.

I have since been asleep twice on the sofa :)

  18. 3 hour ride out through Staffordshire/Shropshire, roads were on the whole dry.

Traction control light came on a few times but nothing major.

Considering changing my 790 to something a little more plush suspension wise, getting harder to keep up with my mate on his V4 Tuono along certain roads today.

Had to clean off the road salt as soon as I got back. :)
