So what have you done today..?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by figaro, Mar 17, 2012.

  1. Brother in law and his wife came over today to help in the garden, so we finally moved all the remaining slate chippings from the back path to the front of the house (putting a tonne into a builders bag for a neighbour to use when they get round to sorting their side borders). :)

We also reshaped the rear border for SWMBO to resign her plants and so she can plant more this season, and cut back the eucalyptus tree. :)

Next job to do will be to scarify the front and back lawns once the snow that’s forecast tomorrow and Thursday has melted

  2. Market day and coffee. Raining! Spring is late this year in Provence. Left the kids to cook lunch, they’ve done the shopping on the market. I didn’t know my kids had wallets! Just me and the dog sat on the terrace watching the world wander by. Love the dog, coffee great. Might even take a shine to the kids eventually. Sun this afternoon hopefully have to think of another reason to nip out for a couple of hours. Pointed the kids in the direction of the cleaning supplies:)

  3. Took SWMBO to the station as she’s on a “shopping day” in Leeds. I was going to go climbing in Sheffield but the weather was atrocious (heavy snow coming down) so I just turned back and went home.

I’ll do some exercises at home and maybe go tomorrow if it’s not too bad.

  7. It’s been snowing continually since 4.30pm, and it’s still coming down. It’s now starting to lay.

  16. That’s a very reasonable price Bazzer.

  17. Paid the balance of both Ireland trip next month and my week in Norfolk in May.

I'll have to pay for my Italy trip in 4 weeks time.

Now I'm so skint I can't afford to go away. :(

  18. Just renewed mine with them today, 848-748 fully comp £210.

  19. :confounded: !! Trigger alert - Insurance rant!! :confounded:
Bloody insurance company:mad: I've got the renewal advice email that gives me a link to my updated documents, etc except that the link fails... I have 2 weeks to go on the insurance and the email reponse from them is that "...they'll look into it within 5 days...". They also tend to take my money about 5 days before due date, so that'd be max 2 days to review, etc.
The 10yr-old on the phone says that everyone's got the same problem at the moment, so I politely suggested that they'll happily be taking my money without giving me time to review the documents. Oh, he says, I'll email them to you but, er, can only send you the link. I wait for the penny to drop with him, but it doesn't.... Get them in the post, I say. "Ok Sir".
I suggested that their system is less than ideal and they might like to consider reviewing it! Fucking useless!!

    Rant 2
I'm trying to submit a meter reading for gas & electricity which fails on the supplier's app and website! Phone lines are 'extremely busy' - now I know why, cos I tried using their chat robot...
    FFS again. I give up...
