Just been told that the multi-millionaire who was going to be bankrolling some glass art catalogue project which required CHF 10'000 of my translation services has decided he doesn't want to do the project after all. That's something of a pity. I could have done with CHF 10'000. I'm not surprised though. Multi millionaires with time on their hands are fickly creatures. Back in the "real world" I have over the past couple of days planted a plum tree and a walnut. I bought the plum and put it in a bit of the field I rent out where I hope it's not going to piss off the farmer too much. Much anywhere else and it will ruin the view. The walnut was growing where I didn't want it, so have removed it to the furthest corner of my land and planted it there. This won't please the farmer either. Farmers don't like trees and they don't like hedges. They always feel they could have squeezed another pound of grain from the space they take up. Mind you the cows they put on the land love them. When they're not trying to eat them they shelter under them from the heat and the rain. But then most farmers don't really give a shit about animal welfare.
Got really peeved of with a mortgage underwriter. Why say one thing, let you go on your merry way, make plans, start processes then change their mind! So annoyed its unbelievable!
this is how you make a protest, go on, make a proper point. make a stand ( not that he could now…..) Had a cheeky day off today (although you wouldn't have thought so considering all the bloody texts and emails I had to deal with this morning) However had a great morning, the weather was glorious but cold (must put some winter gloves on my Christmas list) rode up to Woodstock and met up with a good pal I hadn't seen for quite a few years, he arrived from Redditch on his brand new Triumph Explorer, had a coffee, sarnie and general catch up, this afternoon will be spent putting together a new L Shape Ikea sofa for our TV room, joy of joys! Weather looks good again tomorrow so hopefully if SWMBO gives me a pass, it will be another rideout tomorrow.
I've had a 3 hour conference to call to Australia this morning and a 2 hour call to the US this afternoon. I'm done in. :frown:

Just found out my council tax payments have not been made for about 9 months and I now owe £900 to a debt collector. This is the first I've heard, a debt collector banging on my door, how shit is that Can anyone lend me a grand, sharpish..?
Went for a nice ride out to loomies, popped into snells for a spindle, then home. Now need to boom the first service.
Work still trying to get rid of employes by stealth - They won't prize me out been hanging on for redundancy for over a year now
I rode my bike for a little while yesterday. i didn't want to much, but seeing as it has to go to the MOT next week, I though it would be good for it to be heated up a bit. More than I can say for myself. I always thought that 8°c is no weather to be biking in and I'm right. Only did about 35 needless miles, but I was fairly chilled by the end. I imagine that tyres don't heat up at all in that weather, especially when lorries and tractors keep popping up, so riding around seems a bit pointless. I took it easy. I don't need a binned 999 to end my season with.
