  1. After a nightmare year health wise in 2004, including being in a wheelchair for 4 months, I make sure that I never waste a day mate, we all don’t realise how precious time is really :upyeah:

  4. A very slow start to the day having got delayed in the debacle that was the French end of the Eurotunnel yesterday. We should have caught the 17:20 (local time) but eventually got away at 22:30. Finally got home at 1:15am (UK time) this morning having started at 5:30am the previous day. 420 miles in the ‘day’ just over 1200 miles in the 5 days we were away. The Eifel National Park is a wonderful place to ride around, especially when it’s warm and not raining :D Andy

  5. No it’s totally illegal to hunt with a crossbow in the U.K. but I only want it for target shooting which is perfectly fine.

  6. The church and the shop look familiar but IIRC, the village hall had a pitched corrugated iron or asbestos roof and it was set back from the road with a gated car park in front that was covered in the sort of stones that they put in between railway lines.

I'm planning on heading to Cornwall in the shed on wheels next month so I might well take a trip down Memory Lane to Mt Hawke while I'm there. :upyeah:

  7. Been and looked at a converted van/camper. The Mrs loved it, so deposit paid and pick it up next week. Here's to lots of weekends away.
It's been converted great, the guy is an architect and had loads of CAD drawings and photos of the work they did. The both started crying after we had agreed on a price and shook the deal!. They had used it for a 3 month trip around Europe and were only selling to pay towards a wedding.

  8. Very nice that, I’ve been looking again recently but prices are still strong aren’t they.

  9. After a day where one of my 53 yr old team stamped their feet and acted like a child ‘but I don’t want too!!! Whaaaaaaaaa’ when I said a team event away was not negotiable, I went out for a wet 9 holes and shot +2, equal best ever. Even with shit greens that have been cored and sanded.

  10. Yes, they are. You only live once though and the big five zero is nearly here. Happy wife, happy life.

  14. Thanks. Daughter is off to uni in Brighton next month, it's only an hour and a half away, but can pop down on a Friday night and park up with the hippies and share the love man.

  17. Ran out of gas just when I was overtaking with the 996, me stupid.
Trip counter @220 km, I supposed I could do another 30km.
Stranded 8 km from home, 30 degrees in full leathers, parked the bike at a nearby farm, tried to call 3 separate taxi's and 3 friends to no avail.
Then the owner from the farm turned up and I explained the situation ...
"just 1 or 2 liters? Here you go!"
Lawnmower gas, best gas ever, Thank you very much, you just saved my day.
After filling up I immediately drove back and delivered a nice bottle of wine for helping me out.

  20. if the following return to 24 deg + weather also follows then (flooding aside) be prepared for massive plant growth this time - seeing a large growth in reeds and "fauna" on the rivers and canals this year, this has become a growing (npi) hazard in other parts of the world I read a while back if in toxic (HAB) form.
