Mixed day.. Travelled back from Knaresborough where we have been since Monday. Nice few days away. Parcel and card from guys in my team wishing me well DVLA letter confirming they have revoked my licence, although they have had no detail from me other than a very short form, and these things are indefinite now! Appeals process is via magistrates court…Also may have lost motorcycle and other vehicle entitlement unless I pass further tests?! Trying not to think how this has fucked my life up. There is genuinely no risk whatsoever when driving. Trying not to think about it until next week, or I’ll just jump off a nearby bridge. Last game of golf with a nice walk before surgery tm, unlikely I’ll be able to again for a few weeks. And nice steak for dinner tonight, last meal….
Some cheeky Herbert has dumped 450 tonnes of scrap metal on Weston beach. Only surprise is the local caravan community haven’t yet ‘lifted’ it and weighed it in for cash. What an absolute waste of money and resources in these straitened times.
@bradders Best of luck for tomorrow (today). Hope all goes well and that you recover fully ASAP and things can return to normal for you.
Bradders, a mate came off his bike on a ride and we were obviously first at the scene. He was conscious and blamed an obstruction for his topple. He then proceeded to have a cardiac arrest. Thankfully we brought him back. Once in hospital he had another, then another. He’s good now, but diagnosed and due to have some machinery installed in his chest. The point I’m making is it wasn’t an obstruction in the road, but his condition of which he was unaware. Different road, different outcome. Get well and stay well. A licence isn’t the be all and end all of life - your health is. And I’ll get down and trash you on that course, but not until you’ve a 100% signed off clean bill of health, so it’s a fair and square win
Can you not get a letter of confirmation form him? Surely a man in his position can pull some weight? Oh and good luck for later.
I've seen you ride! let me have surgeons name and I'll put him right! Hope it goes well for you today Paul
Bit of a strange one today ! Had a mishap yesterday afternoon, length of super sharp steel went straight through my hand severing all my tendons! Just got back from 4 hour op at Bristol south mead! Bugger!
