  3. Yes i'd see a blue one through the threshold but i didn't go in as soaking up other stuff, however i did noticed one rider rode in on his yellow commando parked up in the paddock area.

  9. I probably didn't help myself today wearing summer gloves, an open face lid and a draught running up my leg, upping the pace just increased the chill factor for me.

  11. Thank you !

Gifted it really. This is the Military Road in the Isle of Wight south coast. Just heading to the Ferry. Tradition of stopping off at this little pull in to take a picture, near where my Mum lives.

Even got some kind of birdie in the picture as well. Either a Kestrel or a crow hovering about in the top of the picture !

Nice to be out before the really bad weather sets in.....

  16. Started preparations to re-decorate the small bedroom in my house, now all the windows have been replaced. Been cleaning down with sugar soap and to be fair, the paint on the skirting and door architrave has come up nicely. However, it’s not so good, looking at the internal wall of the NNE/NE facing corner of the house, flaking (emulsion) paint and evidence of a lot of condensation over time :(. Hoping the new window and a recent new boiler is going to keep the room a tad warmer so have decided to just seal the wall with a damp proof sealer and put up insulation bats behind a false plaster board wall. The price of insulation bats, plaster board and battening is startling and then I’ve got to employ a plasterer as plastering is not in my skill set. 2 more bedrooms and the bathroom upstairs yet to be started o_O Andy

  17. A classic, surely. Just not one I'd care to own.

  18. Yes just like the Volkswagen Beetle, our early classic Mini and the Italian Fiat 500.

  19. I can turn my hand to most things but can't do plastering either. It's an art.

I don't like the sound of the damp wall though. I don't know the type of house but I'd check the integrity of the outside of the building in that area - mortar, harling, guttering, soffits - if you have access.

I'm just finishing off the last room in the house that I hadn't decorated since we moved in. It's putting up a fight. The decorating is done but I decided to replace the ancient single panel radiator, which was in a daft place, and put the new radiator under the window. It turns out the joists are anywhere between 19" and 22" apart and the upshot is I can't use the 900mm radiator I bought (I bought it before lifting the floor. Doh!) because I'd have to run the pipework up through the joists. I can go to an 800mm, the 900mm was a little over spec anyway, but, in order to get the pipework in place for it I've had to chisel away some stonework for both feed and return. I was a software engineer by trade so have all the upper body strength of a typist. I'm knackered but feeling good. I pick up the new radiator tomorrow and then it'll hopefully be job's a goodun.

  20. Sent an update photo from the chap wrapping part of my rear car bumper in carbon. It's real, not a vinyl wrap and he's done car and bike things for me before. He has completed all the prep and is now getting all the cloth on.

The challenge on this part is to not end up thicker, so a massive sanding job, then hiding joints (it's the width of the car about 5'), matching up the direction of weave with the OEM stuff currently on the car, ensuring the lacquer doesn't crack because it is so long but thin and then not breaking the fixing tabs. Basically a nightmare, but if it works, it will look stunning on the car.
