Good day in the shed today, stripping down the Guzzi. Got the front end off after a bit of a battle and sprayed up the yokes and fork legs. If I can get the wheels sprayed tomorrow and front end put back on I'll be a happy man.
Today got better as the day progressed.Managed to get out for a little spin just after mid day, nice dry roads and blue skies, but a bit cold.Got home safely and Mrs Mervyn said I looked like a mature teenager and a lot better for going out on the bike. Can't argue there. She also treated me to a couple of Belgian chocolate eclairs.
I just went & picked up my plastics from the paint shop, they did an amazing job so I spent some time now putting it all together to get put back on the bike...I can't wait until next spring to start riding! Here the custom LED signals that I got installed, they are much brighter than the previous ones that were in there...so now people can see me turn during the day!
Tonight, exhaust welded up (Just need to wrap it now) and mocked up the tank and seat to see where to cut the material: MADASL intakes under the tank: Yorkie
Managed a bit of work at home then a nearly 6hr drive to Rochdale for a 9am round-table meeting tomorrow
Got the seat unit for the Le Mans finished at last. It looks...grim:frown: Still, the point was to have a go at making one myself and I certainly did that, it's perfectly usable so it'll have to do for now. Coming up to the point I've been dreading - cutting into the loom to wire in the new dash. I may bottle out and pay someone to do it yet...
I sort of got offered 2 jobs today. One of them I'm actually qualified to do, so let's hope to works out. The other one involves being on the radio and talking about things I know nothing about. It's not that I'm no good talking about things I know nothing about (you mean you noticed?) but it helps if I'm interested in them at least. I suspect I'm going to say no to that one. Pity. Radio sounds quite interesting.
They're both part time sort of things (but with the part time stuff I already have that would fill the week and more). So I can say yes to both.
Spent the day in the sun watching the NZ M/Cycle Hill Climb champs, part of the Burt Munro Challenge, tonight is the final round of the NZ Supercross champs, tomorrow will be the Beach Races, Saturday the circuit racing then Speedway in the evening, then on Sunday the Street Races at Wyndham, near to where Burt was born. Remember the "Left side Story" video on youtube about an Austrailian guy with only 1 leg and 1 arm, well this year he was invited to compete here, meet him today, what an amazing dude.
