  1. There are all sorts of magic sprays that dealers spray on vehicles that hide a multitude of sins, my van looked mint until said coatings wore off. Now van has tiny scratches on it here and there that were unnoticeable.

  2. It was my own fault, as I asked for the protective film to stay on so I could detail the car. Drove home, didn't tough i until the detail a few days later.

Pulled them, even took it up (small plastic bumper dent and scratches) and after a lot of arguing they agreed to sort it half price. That half price was three times a BM approved bodyshop wanted, so basically it was cheaper to go elsewhere. I did and never will return.

Not happy with after sales service at any car of bike dealership I've dealt with over the last few years, so I just hunt the cheapest price and loyalty is a thing of the past when swapping.

  3. That’s the trouble with washing the car yourself, you find all the little chips and scratches.

  4. I bet you had a biscuit though!

  5. No point in being loyal TBH to a dealer, a salesman yes but not to just the name on the door. TBF to the salesman on my van has honoured the 2 free services he offered me on the phone even though it’s not on the sales invoice. Had to ring him 2 weeks ago when I’d booked in for it’s A service as the servicing dealer wanted paying…..

  11. Join your local Family History Society/Club. They’ll show you how to/help you get the most out of an “ancestry site” otherwise you could end up chasing a few rabbits down the wrong hole, particularly when your surname is relatively common.

Take a look here to find your local club - https://mlfhs.uk/ or https://www.familyhistory.co.uk/societies-clubs/ :)

  13. Luckily my mum has retained most of her marbles and can be quite accurate when recalling her family’s details.
My auntie has done a fair amount on my dads side so that shouldn’t be too difficult to trace back.
There’s some good useful information here, thanks for the share.

  14. Good luck with your research on your family tree.I hope you get similar pleasure from tracking down people and events that I have enjoyed over the years? Some of the things you discover can be quite surprising.Although I am from an ordinary family one of my ancestors was a knight of the realm for example and I obtained a copy of a will from 1542.All good fun.

  15. My mum mentioned that she was pickpocketed yesterday, lost her purse with £60 cash and the usual credit cards taken, plus driving licence etc, so folks be careful out there.

  17. Off to London for our 20th wedding anniversary. I shall walk quickly past any jewellers. As the 20th is China, we’re off to a fancy Chinese for dinner.
