So what have you done today..?

  1. Went for a short ride on the 1098.

Roads were grim, but it didn't get too cacked up. All clean again now.

Aftermarket (not fitted by me) QS is causing issues with neutral and it's making the bike cut out, so clutch in at lights, queues etc. That'll need sorting, as will the leaking RH fork seal, which was only replaced in 2021 :relieved:

  2. ^ admire you for getting out, roads still caked in salt here, hope will be ok in a fortnight or so - Winter bike still not fixed.

  3. Fork seals were a bit of an Achilles heel and ditch the QS. The 1098 gearbox was not designed for one and is easily lunched if the QS isn’t set up absolutely perfectly. Andy

  4. Yeah I think the QS has gotta go.

Clutch is an aftermarket slipper with an open cover - I'm thinking of fitting a standard clutch and cover.

A few more bits after that and I'm back to standard. (rear sets, fuel cap), apart from some Renthal clip-ons which I'll likely keep.

Symon Moore sorted me out pillion bits for if/when I sell on. I also have a spare set of lower fairings, which I may do in black.

  5. new pads front and back on the 899

  6. Bloody luxury having a Winter bike, when I were a lad it were one bike if you were lucky.

Added subtitles for non Yorkist speakers.:D

  7. Absolutely nothing of note, marooned in Larne waiting for parcels to arrive only 5 days late now. Company I work for decided to change carrier and use the furthest away worker as the destination to see if they were any good. I’ve assured employer that it might have been a better option not to.:joy::sob:

aye, and you had to share front wheel with mates when weren't usin' bike..

apparently "we" must be a bit more careful with our "other than us" terms for people (who exactly are us?) after another well-known member:innocent: got his fingers severely burnt :bomb::sun::sun::sun:

  9. I’m definitely a non Yorkist though having only traveled through and having never lingered there knowingly. However thankyou for the heads up it should assist me in keeping my fingers unburnt…..

  12. Stayed in bed following a poker night, which wasn't really a night as I got home just after 5am. A curry and Happy Valley, then I am back in my pit.

  13. Washed the car, went to the cinema to see The Fabelmans, then pub for a bit of grub with friends. The film was very good, a bit slow, without spoiling it for anyone, I’d have liked a bit more focus on the later years.

  14. Treated my spare one piece leathers and all my boots to the Renapur treatment. I’m all set for the season.

Just need to get my bikes over from my friends house, and hopefully that will be this coming Thursday :upyeah:

  18. Just arrived home from Cape Town, 26 hours after leaving the hotel. I think I managed about 4 hours sleep. Totally knackered. There has to be a better way to do this...
