  1. My mate had one of those slab side gsxr’s when I were an apprentice, I thought it was just the coolest thing I’d ever seen

I explained I couldn't go inside as clinically vulnerable she said come round to the window and if it's ok with you I will take your card and pay in the cafe

  5. I fell in love with the original superbike the first time I saw one

Always wanted one, never had one though

    I currently have, as part of my fleet, a 2005 and a 2009 gsxr1000

One day, I will realise the dream, and get one of the original 750's

  7. Completed the new office move following a three month refurb (which should have taken six weeks).

Changed the plates on the car. Decided I'm too old and uncool for 3D, so went pressed aluminium and pleased with the result.

  8. Taken a short break from catching up with the MotoGP for an Indian takeaway. Mentally busy and been pressed to a Cobra whilst I wait. Andy

  14. I take the point, I didn’t mean to sound incentive, just wish they would ring me and let me know they were popping in as i wasn’t in the house and my missus was prepping for a baby shower thing so I was just a bit caught out.

I did take him on a father son day to York the other week so I’m not a monster haha

  15. I don’t think anyone was inferring anything like that Phil, I think they were just reflecting on how much they miss their old fella’s, I certainly miss my old Mum, used to go around every Sunday for a cuppa and slice of cake, the dog I had at the time ( the one in my Avatar) used to charge into my mum’s place like a rocket to raid the biscuit tin :joy: he used to get all the broken ones, mum used to laugh her head off at him :D !
A mates dad came back from a funeral recently and said…” All my friends are dying off and the worlds full of people I don’t know now” ..must be hard to cope with when you get to that stage :( getting olds tough.

As soon as I get the bike out on the drive or the car to wash it, an old guy over the way appears out of nowhere for a chat, always got him for 20 minutes or so and if you’ve got something in bits, you forget what you’ve tightened, where you are etc, but I try and chill a bit and chew the fat with him cos he lives on his own and doesn’t see anybody all day, probably all week,….he must be really lonely if he wants to talk to me ;)
Yup, getting old is not for sissies,…..must go and buy that new bike before it’s too late
