  1. Ok own up, who was riding a 748/916 Biposto at lunchtime today on the Caterham bypass heading Southbound, dressed in black.!?

  2. Wasn’t me, I only wear white.

  4. Arose late in a hotel room after attending a party.

Late because zero sleep until the early hours, having been placed above the entrance and having to listen to the cackling young birds having a ciggie and deciding who was going to be the lucky fella to buy them a kebab.

Moaned at reception (hotel was empty) and got a full refund, plus free breakfast, albeit a load of old deep fried crap.

Landed home, so going to bed to dream about whether to use a seat bag or panniers for my trip. Again.

  5. Do at least try one!

Decided to take a demo one out a couple of years ago after 20 years on Ducs; within 1/2 mile of the dealer, I thought this gearbox is superb (and later the Q/S) clutch is light, the motor is more torquey than I thought it would be, it's light, flickable, excellent brakes, comfortable, great noise, fun! a little later I understood why they were so quick on track days too.

Took it back and bought a new 765R which still gives a buzz, kept a couple of Ducatis too of course:D

  6. @bootsam ?

  7. I didn't spot the purple Doc Martens...

  8. You might have a point, but you totally lost my vote when you mentioned the 17 yearolds. I've nothing against them at all personally, but there's a reason that their insurance is sky high. Plus I'm not yet too old to remember how 17 yearolds ride & drive,

  9. You may not be to old to remember but are you misremembering in your dotage?;)

  10. I let the train take the strain south by west, and picked up this extended Mini. Spent a good while cleaning it, all the while being chuffed at how little fuel it used on a 150 mile trip.

It really feels fast when your driving it, but its really not... It will pull my little catamaran to lakes and perhaps a beach or two in the coming months.

    PS.
It was like summer here for a few hours this afternoon. It really makes you feel so great.

  11. dotage
    noun

The period of life in which a person is old and weak.

I'm not what I would describe as young but certainly not weak.

  15. Managed some miles finally on the 899! New tyres and brake pads and I’d changed the brake and clutch fluid.

  16. And???….was it as good as you remembered o_O

  17. better tbh, I really mean that. The euro 3 stuff just feels so connected compared to the new euro5 stuff. It’s not silly fast like the r1 was but you can at least Rev it a bit on the roads! I have fitted the comfort seat thinking I’d hate it but even liked that, was super grippy and as the name suggests I found it comfy!

just need a bit more temp now to be able to go and start exploring those metzeler m9rr’s a bit more. Initially they feel a little stiffer, more like a dunlop than a pirelli. Weird as they are same company as pirelli

  19. managed to get out on the V2 yesterday but was still pretty cold. Have just caught up reading about the driving age and retest interesting thoughts, especially as the retirement age is going to get to 68 or higher, how to get to places of work especially in rural locations ?. As an example my daughters college is 26 miles away so has to get a bus when it turns up or is running or isnt late or just doesnt run many times ive had to collect her as no way to get home

  20. Got a bloke here fitting doors today. Luckily slow meetings day
