So what have you done today..?

  1. Working from home today, so nipping out for lunch, I know a nice little cafe about 50 miles away. :)

  2. We experience the same thing almost every day, we live by the sea and we have a seagull that comes to our conservatory doors each morning and taps on the window, it hasn't helped that my wife & daughter have taking to feeding it and now it seems to think it's fecken entitled to 3 meals a day, FFS. :D

  3. It might be attacking its reflection. It's mating/nesting season and so birds can get particularly aggy at this time of year.

  4. An angry bird, I've known plenty of those,:laughing:

  6. Fed up with being sick, so have started on the g&t’s. Wife has gone to get fish&chips (and a battered sausage for me) to cheer ourselves up.

  8. Just experienced the M23, M25 and M3 having landed at Gatwick 2 hours ago. UK motorway driving standards at rush hour boarder on down right bloody dangerous :scream: :poop: Andy

  10. When I go away I tend to stay one or two nights on a site and then a night or two “wild” camping. I usually use an app called Park4Night to find park ups. I don’t have any solar so I can only go off grid for a couple of days but vans with a decent set up and plenty of leisure battery capacity can go for pretty much as long as they want without needing a site (electrical hook up puts a proper charge in the battery compared to what it gets from the alternator). The main issues then are filling up with water and emptying the chemical toilet cassette, but there are workarounds for those.

For example, this is a lovely spot we found in the Lakes overlooking Derwent Water when coming back from Scotland on the trip I just mentioned.

  13. Brocklands farm West Meon. £16 for the night. It's just a field, no loo's or anything. So peaceful and only a handful of camper vans. On last night's dog walk we saw a couple of kites and a deer.

  14. Cool. We’ve got loads of kites round here, a pair of them nest in the trees that ring our cricket club, and I almost run (Muntjac) deer over on a regular basis as they’re suicidal little blighters!

  15. It depends. Obviously, if you stop in a lay-by at the side of a NSL dual carriageway, you’re going to be rocking back and forth every time a truck thunders by, but plenty of the spots are on minor roads. We didn’t hear a single car when we stayed at the spot shown in the pic, but a few minibuses full of hikers turned up at about 6am as the space appeared to be used as a base camp for making an attempt on the summit of Cat Bells.

  16. I’m camping next week at Beadnell in Northumberland, catching up with a mate I used to work with now we’re both retired, …despite appearances, he’s still alive :joy: :joy: !

  18. Day of chilling today, so went to the butchers and bought a load of meat for the inaugural bbq of the year tonight.

Then went to the pub with a mate, spent more time than anticipated, so threw some homemade pizzas in the oven!

    Bbq tomorrow!
