  3. Every Silver lining has a cloud full of rain.:)

  4. Very true. Still, seven dry days out of seven away isn’t too bad.

  5. What’s the distance/ direction planned for today ?

  7. Trimmed about 250m of 12ft hedges, mowed the grass out by the road and cleaned out the pond filter. I’m knackered.

  9. Bloody horrible day today. There was a massive storm at the hotel last night, which flooded the place. Got several calls from reception about le Moto, but the girl on the desk didn’t speak English, so I was expecting it to be on its side. It wasn’t.

Got up this morning, and there were trees in the hotel grounds down, pool furniture in the pool, and general chaos. The woman on reception said most of the roads were closed due to trees down and flooding.

So, after swimming around the pool furniture and branches in the swimming pool, had a quick breakfast and got on my way. After about ten u-turns, I got fed up so just went for it. This was one of the floods….

A Pikes Peak should NEVER look like this…

    IMG_6457.jpeg IMG_6458.jpeg IMG_6459.jpeg

The roads were slimy and greasy, the bike was squirming around a lot. I was hoping I could just about make it home on it, but alas not…

    IMG_6462.jpeg

So, popped into the Ducati garage in Limoges, where they put some fresh rubber on. Had a wander around the garage, and saw this little lot….

All I’ve had since this morning is a bag of crisps, so I’m looking forward to dinner. What with riding through floods, running the fuel tank down to zero range, and seeing the state of that tyre, I think I may partake of several libations, to steady my nerves!

  11. Had the patio doors adjusted so they opened and closed without any issues, got some Euros for my impending holiday, had a mooch around the local garden centre, went to see my solicitor about changing my will and went out on my bike :)

All in all its been a good day

  12. The hotel last night was nice, food was good, however, NO amuse bouche. Dinner isn’t the same without one. Played pool with a few people here for the night, and despite all the alcohol, my team won. Head is sore today.

  13. Headed into the big smoke to pick up my 900SS from Ray Petty Mechanica. After previously spending a loooong time and a lot of money with local garages trying to chase running issues (and them charging me for work that didn’t need doing), the genius George at RP has sorted it. They are seemingly fastidious with what they do and take pride in their work. They took the time to talk me through everything they had done to my bike over a cup of tea and then I had a nice 50 mile ride home to enjoy a bike I haven’t been able to fully enjoy since I’ve owned it.

I will definitely be a returning customer.

  15. Just accidently looked at a thread created solely to ridicule people who (apparently) aren't good at something.
Sheer genius, and how creative to come up with something so entertaining and funny.
