It was one year ago today that my Dad died. I've been trying not to think about it too much, keeping busy, but will raise a glass later this evening.
Yayyyyy…..it passed but will need a new tyre and rear brake pads before long. They also ‘suggested’ I should have the Aircon recharged. I was asked if I would like the work doing now……total cost would be in excess of £800. I declined. A quick check with both kwikfit and Halfords and I can get all three things done/fitted for £350, tops!
I bought a Givi Dolomiti top box on a whim. My mates all use the mahoosive one, which looks bonkers on the bike and although I hate top boxes, thought I'd try one, as it's relatively low, like a rectangle shape, so sits lower. Chucked in all my stuff for the weekend easily enough. Pops off in two seconds, so only like a seat bag really, but no straps etc to fiddle with. Don't get me wrong, I'd look daft carrying it into a hotel, but staying in a wooden 'pod', so can whip it off, leave it there and ride without one, as preferred. Anyway, rambling really, but I approve and although there's no getting away from it being a box, it looks ok too.
I used to run the Touratech top boxes on my GS’s and KTM’s. They do a large and small size, same rack, black, and dare I say they actually looked ok. I’ll dig out some pictures.
I'd pass on the bottom one, but like you, not over enamoured with boxes, preferring a bag, but the Dolomiti also looks ok. I'll get some pics over the weekend, along with a tad more than the 30 miles I've done on the bike since delivery
Few more miles on the Nsr (went without issue) then jumped on the z400 for a few miles around the back lanes. Trying to get a few bikes ridden while it’s not raining.
Out for Japanese last night. Was great as usual. Too much food, Sochi and sake... What the hell, it's weekend Tonight we're out with friends. Don't know where to, but bound to be fun.
Got to our dodgy campsite spot in Wales for our weekend (got a pod). Drank to excess and think I may have got married. As you lot know, swapped the 950s for another GS. Went for factory lowered and really enjoyed the ride down.
