  1. Met up with a few from here at Newlands, then wound up some sport bikes on the way home, back home for a bbq with my folks.

  2. Met up with a bunch of scuderia I have't met before at Newlands then off to Midhurst via Albury and Petworth with my pal Sean. Late lunch at RedHat in Midhurst (very biker friendly bar-restaurant - great food) and home via Fernhurst. Great day!

  4. likewise

  5. What do you use? I'm not one to spend long cleaning cars -especially in autumn & winter- so I'm looking for wash/ wax & minimal effort from me, plus great results and full on beading!

Tried out Mclarens "Ceramic wash & wax" today. Power washed the car, then splashed £2 quids worth of their papaya gloop mixed with a bucket of water all over the paintwork & rinsed off with the hose. Finished with a quick wipe down of the glass. They recommend wiping the entire car but it will be raining again soon so y' know... Total time spent less than 7 mins.

Looks good, but lets see how long it lasts.

  6. Keep it simple and avoid all the expensive nonsense from the retail shelves in my opinion, I just collected two Turtle wax's from Halfords at £4.63 discounted i think, and Zip car wax. All the vehicles in my sheds gets the same straight forward treatment and they look great like your photograph does.

  8. If you want something easy try
Gtechniq easy coat attach to hose away to go
    https://gtechniq.co.uk/shop/auto/ceramic-sealants/easy-coat/

A friend of mine coated my mini before winter last year and it's been an easy wash since

  9. I agree in principle, & found Turtle wax (great price) wash shine was pretty good. But crappy beading! I probably don't need beading, but maybe when the water beads up and runs off, it takes away some of the road crap and salt etc -may also make it easier to to remove?

But what's the world coming to -I'm reduced to posting about washing my car. Time to join a motorbike gang...

  11. Thanks! Yes easy (lazy!) car washing has a lot of appeal with the winter -aka dark cold wet windy- just around the corner.

You can just about make out beading a couple days after

  14. Have you considered ceramic coating?
Looks to last a few years once done professionally

  15. Drove down to Swindon and popped into Machine Mart to look at air compressors. Picked out a compressor, coalescing filter and fittings for a semi fixed installation in my garage. Thank you Machine Mart for gifting me a £500 voucher :D Andy

  17. Popped out to see a friend this morning.
It's not far I won't bother with ear plugs.
What a mistake ! DO NOT ride a dry clutch Ducati with an open airbox and a full system if you want to hear in the future, my ears are ringing!. I felt even more self conscious riding back into the cul de sac than normal.

  18. I was an early adopter to ceramic coatings and my latest one is a bit of a test case really, using a GTechniq product which is quoted as a 9 year life (with regular maintenance and top ups). The tiny bottle alone is about £100 and then needs applying correctly. My detailer took half a day correcting the new paint and a day and a half applying the ceramic coat. He reported it was thicker and more sticky than the usual coatings, but the end result was superb.

He comes every three weeks and that’s when I find it starts to look dirty. I really do agree it helps keep a car looking amazing.

My bike is also PPF’d and ceramic coated to the less used areas. This was just after application…
