So what have you done today..?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by figaro, Mar 17, 2012.

  1. Went down to Christchurch yesterday for a friend's son's 30th birthday. Lunch in the Ship Inn I can recommend the spare ribs.

Today we were persuaded to walk down to the Boat House for breakfast. We had no idea that there was a car show on next door. Some absolute beauties and an absolute horror of a paint job; I'll let you decide which is which.

  2. Very nice especially like the BMW’s paint scheme Inspired by Joan Miró and exploiting the tension between fanciful poetic impulse and a vision of the harshness of modern life.
    No doubt.

  3. Some stunning cars and detailing, but that rally ford is the stand out car for me

  4. Not really. I am not so concerned with preserving the value of my car (it's not worth enough to worry about!) so a £300+ pro coating has no appeal. Ceramic coated or not, I will still have to clean off all the daily road crap every couple of weeks.

I am just looking to make the weekly clean as painless as possible, whilst getting the best result for the least amount of money and time. So like most things its a man math inspired compromise. Cheap products = less cash & more time spent. Expensive products = too much cash and not enough gain in saved time. My target is a 3 weekly hose off, minimal effort getting dirt off, no chamois wipe down needed plus all done in about 5mins total.

This Macca sludge @£2 a wash and 7mins is good, provided its got staying power in the beading & shine departments. I'll know in 3 weeks or less!

  5. Put the washing out on the line, took it back in once dry after folding it.
Trimmed the Laurel hedge just a little.
Painted the window ledge on the kitchen window.
Cleaned my daughters car because she’ll not do it and it irritates me as it’s a lovely Pastel Blue.
Cleared a space in the garage for lawnmower to hibernate over Winter. Need to book it in for it’s annual service.

  9. I guess the next thing we'll be discussing will be housekeeping and the type of duster and cleaning products you use around the house......

  10. I've been driving past the Amberely museum in Sussex dozens of times in the past two years and never stopped once, i mentioned it to a friend that there was a Land Rover day listed and the next minute there was three of us travelling down South. With lunch at the riverside cafe as the queues at the museum cafe were way too long for me it was a great day out in the sunshine.

  11. Been under cyber attack for the last week, daily emails from amazon telling me my payments have been declined (thousands of pounds at a time).

Also getting attacked via Experian and people applying for credit through the comparison part (of which it all stemmed from I’m convinced of it and Experian have been fucking useless in supporting me apart from telling me to lock my credit report lol).

Receiving activation emails and texts for new accounts attempting to be opened etc…

    Horrible little thieving c*nts.

  12. Some little turd has been applying for credit and bank accounts in my name lately. All have been declined, as the banks have been on the ball, but I've also registered my details with CIFAS and the Action Fraud team for safe measures.

  14. In any world, they’re awful.

I’ve ordered an OEM one, to be fitted at first service. The crap one will go in recycling!

  15. Had the joy of visiting the local hospital for three X-rays on my left foot.
