  3. I was surprised at this, as you can't do anything else but get 10/10 for a raclette if:

    1. You have one of those raclette sets (to be added to the fondue set)
    2. You have some raclette cheese.

Cut the cheese into thin slices which fit on the little plates which go in the table-top electric raclette oven thing.
Boil some small potatoes in their skins.
People heat their own cheese to the desired meltedness, scrape on to potatoes (normally kept hot in one of those padded potato baskets).
Serve cornichons (small gerkhins) and small pickled onions, dry white wine (you won't find any Swiss stuff, more's the pity).

Job done. Makes a convenient, convivial meal which, apart from boiled unpeeled potatoes, requires no work.

Add the raclette oven to your Christmas wish list.

  4. I had the cheese but had to grill it :-(

Made my own carrot salad to

Cheese was from France trip and proper stuff

My wish list is full !!!

  5. Well lets hope Santas sack is nice and full for you :upyeah:

  8. Moved the family from salisbury to alrewas in Staffordshire.Glad to be back up here, just a shame I have to stay down there in the week and work! Plus I'll be away from the bike. Well until the better weather when I'll commute on it.

not moving house ever again. Twice in one year is more than enough!

  9. Why the move? From the plains of Salisbury to the slag heaps of Staffs

  10. Because it's better than down south! I'm 30 mins from donnington, I like it here, there's a pub 100m from my house, another 2 within 200m. The national arboretum is 2mins away. Oh and it's not down south!

  11. Ha

I'm thinking about the triangle that is oxford, bath, Birmingham. Herefordshire then ;-)

once this ins claim is sorted, house back together and i can actually put the bugger on the market

  12. national arboretum is shite. Weston arboretum, has a much better quality of leaf to kick around, when in piles on the ground.

  13. I've just had my first lesson in speed reading.

As an exercise, I did "Great Expectations" in 2 minutes.

    I know it's only 2 words but it's a start.

  14. So a memorial to all those who have died since WWII is shite? If you say so.

unless it was a tongue in cheek comment?

  15. After six years of not using it since I got it running properly (when the effing specialists couldn't do it) I fired up the Aga for the christmas period..........

...........apart from a bit of crud in the filter and a sticky motorised valve and a partly seized rad valve.............

.....Now it's so bl**dy hot in the kitchen..........I couldn't stand it so I got out............

.........I'm glad it isn't me doing the cooking this year and I bet 'she' has forgotten all the idiosyncrasies of the d*mn thing.

Well.....I didn't think it was necessary.......................... Tee - Hee..............

  16. Missed gym so garage beckoned, fitted satnav to multi as I got the lead and alleged waterproof bag and managed to knock up from some ram mounts i had. Then discovered the seat is totally fecked on my track bike, not repairable and set about stripping decals to find the tit has lacquered over them!

    Now drinking tequila flavoured beer

  17. Today I is heading north on my first Xmas journey.

First I will be visiting my recently mugged brother to see how he is and to drop him and his wife's present off. Then I'm off to see my niece to drop her present off.

Then it's up the road to see my parents and drop their presents off and also see my other bro and sister and give them thier pressies.

Then to see two of my bessie mates and families to drop off the kid's presents and a cheque to my 4yo God son for his birthday in January (more funds to his lap dancing and hooring fund for when he is 18yo :upyeah:)

Tomorrow I will be heading to Derbyshire to take the M-i-L her present and take her out to lunch, no doubt.

  18. No not at all, must apologise unreservedly, got my arboretums mixed up. I was thinking of the Batsford Arboretum.

no offence intended to you-current forces-or any ex forces, or indeed anyone.

    genuine mistake.Sorry.

if you ever go the Batsford arboretum, its tiny, and hardly worth the name.

    and PM sent.
