  4. If it is then using the other hand will be like someone else is doing it. Which of course will improve your life experience just like not been able to play golf
So damaging your hand has had nothing but positive outcomes on your life

  7. A bit of ventilation won't hurt as long as it's not letting in water.

  8. Made this prototype folding stand for a mate who makes a lot of pizzas! Load testing with plates :upyeah:

  9. Awake; she initially said asleep, I let her know my concerns and she said she’d be happy doing it awake if the anaesthetist was.

The bit I wasn’t expecting was when she said she was going to open all four wounds again and extend them in order to check fully for tendon damage; as the position the tendons are in when the wound is exposed isn’t the same as when they were closed round the knife any tendon damage can be hidden.

and I wasn’t expecting 3 months in a cast. VGG :astonished::(

  12. Flippin eck your braver than me, that sound horrendous. They tried to remove 2 surgical screws from my ankle under local and when the chisel came out I started freaking out, they had to stop and put me under .
At least you’ll be ok for biking in the spring:upyeah:

  13. The clinical staff at St. George’s were absolutely superb. The anaesthetist was chatting whilst waiting for the nerve block to kick in. Ended up talking about music and played some tracks off my phone. When I was wheeled in, they set up a screen with a sheet, a bit like a tent, and the surgeon asked what music do I like. I said that I had my phone and headphones so could choose mine and they could have what they wanted. I put an album on, but wasn’t aware the Bluetooth was off, so was on the phone speaker. Surgeon said she liked it, leave it on.:laughing:

  14. I have had a similar experience whilst having fractures and ligaments repaired under LA.

At the start of it all I got a bit curious about what was going on. Curiosity got the better of me and I asked the anaesthetist if I could watch. He was a bit taken aback but said he didn’t mind if the surgeon didn’t mind. Long story short, the curtain you talk of was removed and I watched him place all the pins, plates, screws etc etc

A totally surreal experince which was really interesting, but one I hope not to have to repeat:astonished:

  15. I didn’t fancy this one, but I did watch and discuss the procedure with the consultant when I was stented after my heart attack. That was however on TV so not exactly the same.

  18. Did you watch? I had some bones taken out of my right hand, really interesting to see the techniques. Including stainless steel chisel and hammer.
Before it was sewn up you could watch the tendons etc move around. Bit like terminator :D:D
