Opened the Christmas biscuits, chocolates and rather special brandy tonight, and just watched White Christmas with Bing Crosby.
Out to The Rose in Kingston to see Dillie Keane and Barb Jungr’s Christmas show “Two Turtle Doves”, very entertaining.
So far today (and in no particular order) I have been 1. Ironing 2. Registering my car with the manufacturers app (what a palaver!) 3. Chasing a refund of £305 that should have been paid a week ago (sorry sir but the person that was dealing with this has been on the sick for the past two weeks but it’s all authorised now ) 4. Clearing up a couple of large plant pots that were broken during the night when Storm Pia did its thing. I’ve just had breakfast then I’m off to the shops to buy new plant pots and present tags. This afternoon I will definitely be keeping the sofa anchored as I’m due to go out on the town with some friends and it’s gonna be a late, messy one.
Had a great day today. Woke up to a text from me mate calling me every C bomb under the sun for missing his 50th birthday yesterday and not sending a card despite him never having sent me a single birthday card in the 40 odd years I’ve known him Then my mum phoned to cancel Christmas cos her, my dad, sister and niece all have the bad covid. Then I got absolutely drenched by a freak shower walking the dogs at lunch. So I made an executive decision to make an early dart for the pub where I intend on getting as pissed as I can with number one dog in tow and will likely get a chippy tea on the way home.
Are you taking number one dog cos he’ll be able to guide you home when you’re pished?…I like the way you’re thinking
Not yet but very soon, In 2023 the winter solstice will occur on Friday 22 December at 3.27am GMT. The winter solstice occurs in December, and in the Northern Hemisphere the date marks the 24-hour period with the fewest daylight hours of the year. That is why it is known as the shortest day of the year, or the longest night of the year. Bring it on.
thanks to @XH558 Pete, I'm finally on my way to sorting out one central heating system. I don't have any links to the company, but all the Adey products that I have used so far are very well-made and designed.
Was going to say it looks like a filter of some form fitted to the flow/return? I’ve fitted many central heating systems but never used one. They are all currently working as they should Glad you’ve found some solace.
Went out last night with my best friends. Got home at 1am, which is relatively early. My head is banging
