No worries, these things happen. I've stopped buying expensive cars and I'm happy to keep running what I have, even if I have to cough up every now and then to keep it going. Since retirement I pedal considerably more than I drive. Last year I cycled 3000 miles and drove 800...
exactly this, despite being a bit more limited now I am the same as you, and last time I had to use the car the battery was totally dead as it had been over a month.
Remembered last minute, we had no honey for the cheese. We do now and I was forced to sit down in the farm shop cafe and eat american style buttermilk pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, it’s a hard life Andy
I use a little PV panel that plugs into the OBC socket, works a treat. https://www.care4car.com/12-volt-electrical/aa-car-battery-solar-charger-maintainer-conditioner.html Pretty sure Halfords do them or the usual on-line chaps.
Thank you Im at high risk of infection because of my ongoing treatment and lack of immunity so im monitoring my temp and sputum as I will need antibiotics if they change. Thankfully it's not covid
Through the winter i clean the z every week or so, exhaust off, bottom of the bike/front of the engine, wheels calipers, scrub the chain with a wire brush and parafin finished with chain wax. All good their. 400/4 hasnt been fired up for a good 4 or 5 months....that didnt blip into life - not by a long chalk....15 mins to get it going so i think ill take it out tomorrow round the block....looks like im gonna have to do that once a month just to keep the engine turned over...
