My 18 year old VW Caddy is in for mot tomorrow and it will fail on something I’m sure, Like you I love it and I’m at the stage where I either spend on the bodywork or buy another but it’s been fantastic for the last 12 years.
Me and my mate were talking about chopping in our Monkeys for a couple of those at some point. Have you ridden both? Worth changing?
Yeah I’ve ridden both. I only went for the DAX because I used to have the original and I sometimes take the missus on the back for a coffee; handy for nipping around when we go camping. I’ll get slated for this but the heel toe gear change means you can ride in flip flops too lol!
Gave myself a haircut. Fourth time now, as originally encouraged by that Scottish tart. I'm actually pretty good at it notwithstanding needing reading glasses and the difficulty turning the scissors the right way and not cutting my ears off. The first time I apparently gave myself a proto-mullet, but my sis sorted that. I'm big on layering.
Been replastering our main room ceiling for the last couple of days...horrible...horrible job for a DIY dude...
Just looked at my calendar and realised im getting the 899 serviced next week, so it will be first ride of the year time. Whooop!
News at 11. Odysseus spacecraft/probe/alright then 'robot' America's first soft landing on the Moon since 1972, is now sending back pictures. Meanwhile I can't see the back of my head.
Saw Adam Kay "Undoctored" at The Rose in Kingston. Some very amusing stories & some sobering ones regarding the state of our medical professionals' mental health. https://doctors-in-distress.org.uk/national-tree-planting-campaign/ "In the UK one doctor takes their own life every three weeks and one nurse takes their own life every three days."
Yes, that is shocking. My uncle was in Ealing hospital after a heart attack. I dropped in on him, what with me being a courier at the time, regularly going to London, sometimes three times a day (on the K75 BMW). He died within the year and I collected his ashes (from Mortlake) and brought them to Cheltenham on it, so that was his last motorbike ride.
Went to see Stuart Lee on his Basic Lee tour at the Buxton Opera House last night. Like any good performer he makes his well scripted act seem effortless and impromptu The seats were definitely designed for a smaller stature audience as arse numbness ensued. Seth Lakeman tonight at the same venue but this time with the luxury of a box.
