  4. Went for a hoon on our Supermotos, good thing we have massive boingy suspension the potholes are more like ditches and craters. The amount of gravel that comes with this on bends is mildly alarming.
Dry but a brisk breeze we managed about 100miles.

  8. Yesterday I “took” 11 members of the North Yorkshire branch of the DOCGB to meet with the West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire branches at The Motorist in Sherburn in Elmet. About 50 Ducati’s turned up of all shapes, sizes and flavours which was great to see :upyeah:

We had a great ride to get there from Northallerton and a great ride to Helmsley on the way back taking it lots of Yorkshire’s best twisties, before everyone set off for home.

It was good to meet up with some old friends from West Yorkshire and see some new faces, particularly from South Yorkshire.

I’d not been to The Motorist before……what a place! Lots of fantastic bikes, cars and motoring memorabilia, with a great cafe and lots of merchandise on sale too. And the place is massive with acres of parking. It knocks Squires into a cocked hat that’s for sure.

Anyway here are a few pics from the day including one of Doris who rode pillion and didn’t fall off given how we briskly we were riding :p

  12. Today I saw something that brought on a smile. Six bikes heading along the A1139 Parkway around Peterborough. They all moved as one, we’re nicely spaced and obviously experienced bikers. No wobbles, weaves or trying to outdo one another. They moved constantly, uniformly and seemingly effortlessly out to the A1.

The second bike was a V4 Multistrada Pikes Peak which looked good as it went by, I wondered if he was a forum member. They turned south onto the A1 and I followed them down to the next junction where I had to let them go and peeled off. The whole time I watched them they were a single unit.

They were obviously off on tour, not too heavily laden but I couldn’t see any UK stickers so I wondered where they were headed. I definitely felt a pang of envy although the weather in the area was a wild contrast of wind, absolute black cloud deluges and sunshine that dried the roads remarkably quickly. Only to be followed by another torrential deluge. Nonetheless six guys off on tour, fun!
