  3. Took the 900 out. Cut the ride short on account of wind.

I reckon it was the 2 veggie burgers. It was dangerously distracting. I won't have them again!

  6. Took the 899 for 150 mile ride up into Shropshire, into Wales and then back home. Roads where pretty quiet but the surface in many places is just criminal, I had 2 big moments because of potholes.

  7. Was sitting in the hot tub after a big gym session and decided to have a bbq tonight, so stopped at the butcher on the way home. Am trying to resist opening a bottle of wine, as the next 10 days will be booze fuelled.

  8. Well i'd the chainsaw out today cutting some dead fir trees down when the bottom of the tree trunk kickout on me, i was spat out into some stinging nettles, with just the T.shirt on i carried on cutting not scratching the back and arms with success, but six plus hours on i've this tingly feeling in the arm which's quite weird.

No doubt some people would pay good money for that.!

  11. I'm knackered.....spent the morning shopping for food then doing a few jobs in the garden. Then this afternoon my best mate came round for a chat and a cuppa. When he left I did more gardening.

This evening I’ve spent 3 hours building a bbq that was delivered today.

Thought it might have had sub assembly done for various parts .....but no, I had to build 90% of it up. Very bloody fiddly and when you've got fat fingers like I have trying to screw tiny screws, nuts and bolts in tight spots it's a frigging nightmare!

It does look good though but I'll have to get a gas bottle tomorrow to test it properly.

  12. We needed a break, so we’re on the ferry to Spain. Who should come and sit next to us at dinner but some guys wearing RPM Speedshop sweat tops.

The name vaguely rang a bell, so I ask and the guys tell me it’s a custom bike shop.

They were concerned about rain in northern Spain so I recommended the N502 and head for the magic carpet to Guadalupe.

Blow me, I didn’t ask what they we’re riding. Only afterwards did the penny drop that it’s Ray Petty of Ray Petty Mechanica and they do custom Ducati’s. Doh!

  14. I’ve found a standard bird feeder suspended mid garden on the washing line completely confuses squirrels
They stand underneath it looking up but can’t reach it, and by the time they’ve got to the tree that supports one end they’ve forgotten whey they are there.
It’s highly amusing to watch, and so far the only successful method I’ve come across

  16. But then you’ll be all day pulling up weeds and raking stones.
Tarmac and Astro turf is the only way forward for all lacklustre ‘gardeners’

  20. One of those learning days today,

Had a problem with my right hand/wrist for coming up to 3 years now, thought carpal tunnel then after
mri /ultrasound turned out to be Osteoarthritis in the lower thumb joint so had an ultrasound cortisone injection then two weeks later and funnily enough whilst undoing the wire connector under the petrol tank to take it off, i heard a pop and immediate pain which out of a 1-10 scale was a 20,
What i couldn't workout was how i could still move all my fingers a few days later but still had some pain so after another set of scans it turned out to be a ruptured tendon caused by the arthritis making the thumb bone rough and the tendon rubbing across it until it then snapped.

A bit of luck was i don't need an opp and i didn't know its a tendon we can do without, if you pinch your thumb and little finger together you will see the tendon on the inside of the wrist and when people have tendon damage beyond repair they use this one.

Just have a lot of inflammation but when gone can go back to work so no riding for a while.
