Rode into north Wales and then down through the middle and back home, saw the Missenden flyer in Bala on his Goldwing. Did 300 miles in total, oh and a cop car I was following pulled over and waved me past just before some brilliant twisties, never had that happen before and he gave me a thumbs up as I went past!
Saw the Foo Fighters last night. MrsGC is a fan, I’m not too bothered. Drank too much so went to the gym in an attempt to feel better. Didn’t work.
Saw an old friend and played a round of golf at Goodwood. The buggies are a bit different And if the golf wasn’t so good we could always enjoy the sounds from above
Stripped down the zed for a plug change..had a small oil leak after getting the side cases cerakoated....all good. All back together now...then made a start on the rsv plug change...half way through that...
Went to pickup a bike I won on ebay, 500 miles each way - a bit much for one day. Might not do that again.
I've just unpacked and warmed up the yellow Superlight from an outside storage location that was there for the week, i don't think it's ever been left outside in entire life. Anyway the clutch fluid level looks a little low so i'll need a new seal kit or a direct replacement, please let me know if you've one available.
Whilst out grocery shopping at lunchtime, I observed the byplay of a seriously ticked off (no pun intended) GS rider being issued with a fixed penalty for having “overly bright auxiliary lights fitted”. Had the rider been a little less confrontational, I think he might have just been given a warning to correct the alignment of the lights but he wasn’t. Curiosity peaked, just searched the 1989 Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations and it would appear there is only one offence, “causing undue dazzle”. The Construction and Use regulations have very specific requirements about the position and use of “fog” lights and “driving” lights on cars but it would appear “auxiliary” lights are less regulated. Only stipulations I could find for forward facing lights are, no more than 2 light fixtures, must be fitted on a horizontal line and spaced apart, must be a white light (unless using a yellow lens) and can have up to 6 bulbs per light fixture. Did the behind the scenes tour of the Royal Albert Hall this morning which I really enjoyed. Interesting seeing the guts of the place and finding 3 articulated HGV’s parked underneath it. This afternoon we went to Brick Lane to see what a former lawyer called Nathan Sawaya can do with a large number of bog standard Lego bricks, both in sculpture and portrait form.
Sorting some stuff,found a photo of a presentation back when I did some support stuff over some years for Outward Bound. Perhaps NOT a photo to have on display in the lounge…
