  4. Mowed the lawn and as I finished I noticed a police car pull up at the gate, myself and then later my wife had to dial 999 on Tuesday because the pikey rats were attacking our property again and causing more mass damage so call on Tuesday and they turn up Friday, what a mess this country has become.
From what the officer said im not holding my breath that anything will be done until something drastic happens to me or them. More stress I really dont need.

  5. Ooo... you bugger - Mrs Bee had the same but in the upper back vertebra #6 if memory serves. Diagnosed as osteoporosis for which she now takes Alendronic tablets that help absorb the calcium tablets she takes along with it. She also finds a heat pad helps relieve the pain.

Deffo no heavy lifting for you and Mrs Bee sends her love & sympathy.

  6. my love and sympathy for Mrs Bee too
There is query steroid induced osteoporosis
I have been on Zometa (zolendronic acid) for 7 years which should help my bones.
I have got a tiny lesion on my L4 which could be the culprit
I'm taking nefopam which has been a god send it took a few days to kick in and now managing the pain.

  7. Thanks... when Mrs Bee first did the fracture she was in great pain and had trouble moving for a week or so and took regular (over the counter) pain killers. But as time progressed, weeks, and the pain decreased she weaned herself off them so as not to become dependant.

It has taken a good few months for things to settle down and now only suffers from a dull ache, especially when she over does it gardening. She used to use Tiger Balm but now uses Voltarol and as mentioned previously the heat pad gives comfort... and handily enough makes her fall asleep and become quiet... :D

  8. Rained off yesterday. Heavy showers this morning and a closed road due to a landslide. Still nice roads and scenery. The ride home from the south of France begins tomorrow.

  9. Cleaned moss off the roof and cleared the gutters as well,…horrible job  !

Used “ Triggers broom” and noticed a sticker on the head …….

    IMG_6452.jpeg

This has got to be a piss-take surely  ??

If not,.. what the hell is going on in this PC, nanny state that requires you to consult a website before operating dangerous equipment like a broom :scream: !
It had me standing there muttering to myself, …been doing a lot of that lately :(

Can anyone tell where this is?

    IMG_20240621_181203047.jpg

    The money shot.

So, did Lechlade to Faringdon, on to Swindon (bloody awful), back to Chelt via Ciren. Paid a couple of visits to Mr Ton. Zorsts no longer smoking.

  11. Stumped as to where the Sainsbury's - pretty certain it isn't one of the Swindon stores.

But how about an alternative route to Ciren?

Hang a left off the A419 to Cricklade and from there head to Malmesbury. Tis a lovely road but beware of subsidence & bumps on some of the bends. There's a particularly dodgy s bend that adds to the tension & excitement.

At the Malmesbury island you can take the big wide swoopy A429 to Ciren or the woohoo nadgery B4014 to Tetbury and then on to the swoopy fast Fosse Way to Ciren.

Mr ton in yellow... nice :D

  13. Both the Cricklade slip roads on/off the A419 are fab but Cricklade itself is one of those places you drive through.

In twenty plus years of living in the area I've only stopped in Cricklade once and that was due to a puncture....

  14. I'm sure you'll find that the person that applied the label had to go on an apprenticeship course as well.
This country in 2024 = Fubar.!

  15. https://fullsupporthealthcare.com/news/the-real-story-behind-the-broom-scandal/

Unlike powered suction devices that draw in the dust particles, brooms move particles from one place to another. While the larger shavings and off-cuts may not visibly be flung into the air, the hazardous non-visible particles are.

A thorough risk assessment should be able to assess whether or not sweeping is suitable, or whether other means of extraction should be employed. If powered vacuuming is not possible, suitable RPE may be required by the worker in order to prevent hazardous exposure when sweeping.

In response to Mr Northcroft, a spokesperson from the HSE said: “While it is simply not the case that HSE has banned the use of broomsticks, companies are being encouraged to use one of the many safer and more efficient types of equipment where the health of workers is better protected.”

  16. So there is some truth behind it? I honestly thought it was a complete piss-take and when you read the article you can see that it applies some common sense to the “dangers” of using a broom, not operating the broom in itself, but the dust particles that you will suspend in the air, so it does make you aware of potential health hazards due to particle inhalation.

So that’s just proof positive that the older I get,the less I know :worried:
Now I think about it, the weather was gorgeous up here yesterday :sun: so I’d gone topless :dizzy: and lathered myself with suncream, when I’d finished the roof all the dust had stuck to the suncream on my arms etc and I looked like a sheet of 200 grit wet n dry :joy: so yes, there was a lot of it flying about :upyeah:

So…..“Be careful out there people “……what program was that from, eh? eh??? :joy:
