  4. Fitted and new kitchen sink and swapped the taps round from the utility room to the kitchen because it’s a better tap and rarely gets used in the utility room.
No swearing and no leaks so overall I’m pleased with myself

  6. The 2 main seed feeders we currently have hold 1.4kg each; they are the squirrel proof one where the perches are spring loaded and a squirrel's weight closes the port, so unfortunately hiding something that size in a tree isn't an option. There's a third caged seed feeder that hold's about 0.5 kg.

Until recently we didn't see a starling and the small birds took about 2-3 weeks to empty the big ones, small one went about a week. Since the starlings have turned up, they will empty all 3 in a day; they'd do more but we won't refill them more than once a day. We wouldn't mind but they put as much on the deck when they eat which attracts feral Pigeons and the ruddy squirrels. Sorry, we're not running to a £40 sack of seed once a week but at the same time we don't want to lose the small birds; sparrows, tits, finches and even a woodpecker.

Thanks for that. I'd actually seen one on eBay and taken a chance on it, but it's good to know that it's worked elsewhere.

  11. Tell me about it... for quite a few years we had a semi derelict school building opposite that housed quite a few pigeons.

And now the building has been kitted out with swish apartments the pigeons are moving into the gardens. They pluck the new wisteria buds & then try to nest in it.

They're always flapping & fighting with each other, hogging the bird table & crapping on the car.

I could quite cheerfully lose it and batter them to death with a length of 4" * 2"....
