  2. Nor sure if the two are related but @Ducbird ‘s advice seems solid.

  9. It is cheers.
I converted it from three garages into a two bed house about 20 years ago.
Joists and floor boards came from the demolition site that was the Hacienda

  11. Been doing some sums to see if retirement is a viable option. Now trying to sort access to the ISA platform before starting off the process of sacking off the financial advisor.

  12. Finance legislation rules restrict access to funds held in a pension product until you consult an authorise financial advisor who may, or may not, agree your plans are sound and sign off on access to your funds. Supposedly to stop you being taken for a ride ……… twice. Andy

  13. Thanks Andy, advice much appreciated :upyeah:. Fortunately these aren't specific pension products but Stocks & Shares ISA's so that shouldn't be an issue (the previous IFA who retired was considerably better than the current mob). As far as consulting your IFA, their contract with us states that they contact us on an annual basis to arrange a meeting; last meeting December 2022; last report March 2023; and having gone to the platform provider, they still have the same FA listed for us on their records that we were informed was leaving about 6 months ago. I think they are fairly clearly in breach of their own agreement.

So, as the IFA appears to be doing SFA for their money, the platform provider has started their internal process to remove them from our account. :)

  14. Yesterday, picked up the Zed from a guy who I use....First time the zed has ever seen an external set of spanners to my own (25k on it now) I don't trust myself doing or attempting a valve check) and while he was in there a throttle body balance...After 25k all the valves were in tolerance (very pleased about that) - throttle bodies were way out and those are now done....literally felt like riding a new bike on the way home and the tickover noise has changed also....used to kind of "glug" at tickover but is now a smooth burble.....very pleased - even did me a suspension setup 220 quid all in...amazing value.

  15. My nephew is getting married in South Africa, so the Mrs and I got on an overnight plane, then argued with the hire car people for 2hrs who didn’t have a car ready for us,  (pre booked, pre paid).

‘Would we like a twin cab with an open back’?

 ‘What, so our luggage can get nicked out the back at the first traffic lights? That’ll be a no. We’re not going to a wedding in bloody ‘backie’.

When we eventually did get a car we drove 5hrs and we’re in the Drakensberg Mountains now.

Weirdest thing, the sky here is blue and it’s not raining. The winter here is better than our summer.
    Pictures/proof tomorrow.

Day before we left wasn’t so good though, had to pay income tax for 6 months and various other bills
