Another lovely day touring Scotland in brilliant weather. One night in the lakes tomorrow, then the peaks, then home.
Bought a new (to me) car, pick up Weds next week. JCW version replacing the cooper version we’ve had from new in 2016. Funny how feels very similar, even this 6 years newer, but with way more power
My digs for the night in the mountains in vermont. Doing a road trip around New England, with a slight detour to niagra falls to meet up with relatives who live in Canada
Had an early morning swim, bit of breakfast, then drove from the hotel in the Loire valley to Le Mans, then the Porsche experience centre, via the car wash, where I entertained the locals by giving the car a full detail! Had a race with a local on a 1290 Superduke, it was funny watching him hanging on for dear life at about 150mph, but fair play to the guy, he didn’t give up! Home tomorrow, so I’m going to eat and drink tonight, until I burst.
Stopped at Gretna Green as we were virtually passing. Shouldn't have bothered. The devils porridge museum was closed which was a shame . Walked a bit of Hadrian's wall . On a large campsite tonight with a bar and pizza oven. One more night in the peaks tomorrow then home .
A trip to the land of 20mph zones. Ridden in the area before, but never visited llyn brianne so that was today's mission. Also visited elan valley and llyn clywedog so a full day of reservoirs
The last couple of days supporting a friend that's racing their RS800 in the nationals at Hayling Island over a four day period, a fab location, but a shame about the rest of the island in my opinion.
I'm sure that I read somewhere that the Welsh are looking to remove the 20mph speed limits, and put them back to 30mph, as the trial period was not as successful as they hoped
I’ve heard that too but I’ve also heard they are leaving it for local councils to decide if they change them back. They will probably just say there is no money for replacing the signs or some other bullshit.
Having the lovely job of lifting old kitchen tiles , which will then require some floor grinding to get rid of the left over tile grout :/ .
I’m trying not to raise the level of the floor :/ else that would have been my go to option. Ask me how I feel after I’ve had a day floor grinding which I suspect will have me in a fog of tile grout.
Had a few hours spare and with the weather set for dry a bimble around the Peak seemed like a good idea. Wasnt bothered about covering lots of miles after yesterday's Wales trip but still covered 90 miles. Called at Cafe 19 at Calver crossroads as i do enjoy their blend of coffee.
