  2. went to charge Halfords batteries @Jez900ie but sadly i think they are both pretty much :skull:

Moral of the story:- don't buy any spare batteries at reduced prices if they already have acid in them, and when you don't even need them.

  3. This is the truth. But we could have needed them. If we had needed them it would have been a great idea. If only we'd both bought another bike with starting issues...!

  6. Mayonaise oil? I had a VW Caddy which was losing coolant, turned out to be a crack in the head!

  7. She don't know what she's talking about, you went out on your bike the other day :joy:

  8. Could be the cap on the bottle if you're lucky. If there's no mayo in the water, I always go straight to pressure test the coolant system. Immediate result, £20.

  17. My Caddy didn’t have Mayo either but kept losing coolant. The coolant was entering one of the cylinders and being pushed out through the exhaust. The van needed a new head and a DPF as the coolant had washed through the DPF. Glad I didn’t have to pay the bill!
Edit. As it was a warranty job VW wouldn’t pay to replace the removed cam belt, it had to be re used. How much is a cam belt? £20?

  18. Perhaps because of a lot of reclaims on warranty? 1000 x£20 is a fair bit. Its 2/3 of a Pani!

  19. Woke up in a lot of pain in my foot this morning, it turns out I’ve got gout. Haven’t had it for about 7 years, but the doctor said it can return at any time.

Bit strange, as I eat really healthily most days, only have a glass or two of red on a Saturday night, and gym/ swim six days a week.

After being on Naproxen for over ten years and managing to get off it a couple of months ago, the doctor said I need to go back on it, as that’s what would have caused it to come back. Brilliant.

  20. Get a second opinion. Naproxen is an NSAID and will treat the symptoms not the cause. Gout is caused by a build up of uric acid and it is this you need to control. Allopurinol controls the level if uric acid in the blood hitting the cause. The danger of ignoring this is the uric acid crystals will eventually wear your joint away resulting in permanent arthritis.
