  3. Found time for 150 mile rideout while the weather is dry.

Glad i wore my winter jacket as it was a bit cold in parts... the clocks were showing 2°C coming over the tops between Congelton and Buxton.

  4. I know the feeling, there’s always a list.

Best advice is never get to the bottom of the list or something else will be added.

  5. When I crossed one item off “the list” 2 more would be added by Lady Vader. The list went in the bin

  6. Friday, went to the NEC classic car show with Uncle Baz, enjoyed it.

One car that really surprised us was not a classic at all, the new MG Cyberster all electric 2 seater sports car. It looked good, very well designed and finished. What a surprise from a brand that I wouldn’t otherwise consider.

Saw a few other nice classics but kept my hands firmly in my pockets. However I am starting to think about cashing in my pension and putting the money into something with wheels. If I don’t spend it my kids will wind up paying in total 70% tax.( Latest budget). What’s the point in that?

  7. The car wasn’t my kind of thing but the guy is doing a great job with this restomod. Had a good chat with him but the paint job was probably the best in the show. It..was…superb! IMG_9937.jpeg

Done by these people in Essex.

Here’s some other cars of interest.

  9. Did anything ever come of that MB SL you were looking at bringing over from the US?

Yeah, I’m going through it slowly refurbishing, er, everything. Last owner was my nephews father in law. He had it 50 years! Everything is original and all the numbers match. There’s obviously engine and chassis numbers but there’s also a number on the inside of the aluminium bonnet and a number on the hard top.

My plan is to refurbish as much as possible as opposed to replacing, however some things such as the exhaust system will need to be replaced.

Main problem is space, I need to build a new man cave. Going through the planning process now. Then I’d like to strip the car and get a total respray which satisfies my OCD:joy:

  11. Yes, that’s the point. If you make anything on a classic it’s tax free, which sounds a lot better than 70% total tax including death duty’s.

  12. that's more than I've achieved in a lifetime, I guess I just never hung out in the sort of places where you could meet tiles.

  16. Could they tell you how your card details were compromised? And did you use the card in the Samsung 'wallet' to pay for stuff?
