  1. 1898?

  2. got an apology letter from Plusnet and a cheque for £231 and you could have knocked me over with a feather. I had sent several E-mails at the time when punished for leaving an Internet supply contract "early" despite there being no like-for-like cost benefits for being "in" that contract. There were noises at the time that the Gubment were about to take action on this as clearly unfair practice. Only wish i could go after Talk Talk with an even worse breach but still pleased that "justice" has been served on this occasion.

  3. Pulled a bloody nerve in my neck earlier, it’s gone into my head. Meant to be riding to Devon for the weekend on Friday, but may have to either drive or get the train and meet my mate there, as I can’t turn my head without being in pain.

  4. can sympathise with this, and the timing often sucks! i could almost take my own pillow when using a hotel these days as the normal "haystack" proportion pillows that are almost standard practice, are twice the height i need for a comfortable sleep.

  10. Just enjoying a morning coffee, sitting under blue skys and trying to read a Spanish news paper. Despite the devastation elsewhere in Spain, Catalan politics is front page news. Nothing changes  Planning to have lunch (and a beer) at a local micro brewery we found last time we were here. Montmeló for free practice tomorrow. Lots of people wearing MotoGP T-shirts milling around in town. Andy

  11. Thought that was a bit of a hike from the ‘normal’ pricing.
Enjoy your sunshine and beer, and just to further cheer you up it’s foggy and cold here this morning!

  13. Its amazing how what seems like a good idea snowballs out of control...
    1. Last night went to put the sxv on the tender (as im messing around with lights/starting it etc etc to test stuff thought it would be a "good idea"
    2. The next "good idea" was that the little rubber optimate boot that covers said connection kept falling off so the final in the trio of "good ideas" was to put a bit of superglue on it.... put the superglue round the bottom of the boot.
    3. This morning totally unrelated but upset the other half...not going in to that...!
    4. Went in the garage to get the zed out to go to work - thought id take the sxv off the tender....capiliary action had played its part so, stuck the optimate plug to the frame which then when i grabbed it, took off a bit of powder coating (strike one) fuck me i only just got it unplugged...
    5. Started to move the zed out of the garage - got half way out and noticed the sxv had moved on the under engine stand and toppled off of it....instinct is to then reach/lunge....missed the sxv let go of the zed, zed fell against the garage door and put a crease in the tank....
    6. In the middle of all of that put a nice big deep cut in my little finger...blood everywhere....

Great morning. putting a positive spin on it...the tank had a few chips out of it so i thought...ill get that resprayed one day...so thats another reason to now...

  14. I too enjoyed a free morning coffee & free Bourbon biscuits; in the recovery room at Epsom hospital after an endoscopy o_O Good news was beyond one polyp which they removed there and then (fascinating to watch) everything looks okay; bad news is that doesn't explain the symptom that got me this test in the first place. The operator is suggesting that the next step might be a gastroscopy, hopefully with a different camera :astonished:

If nothing else, this morning reinforced what a bloody marvellous thing the NHS is when it works well, staffed by some wonderful people :upyeah:

  18. Fingers crossed for a good outcome :upyeah: I have a gag reflex from hell and had to be put under for my gastroscopy. Andy

  19. Thanks Andy, I think they'd have to do the same with me for that one; this one was fine on just Entonox.

  20. On a brighter note, I have managed to annoy Mrs GG. :D

I left my work phone at home this morning and forgot to silence the ringer. I'd also neglected to tell her I'd changed the ringtone. In my absence she'd been looking for the new bird in the garden and didn't realise until I came back and answered a call that the quacking noise was my phone

    It certainly cheered me up.
