  1. undid and removed remaining 4 pesky fixings on a classic car fuel tank, very satisfying but neck-ache inducing.

  2. £98 for tyre and fitting
    £49.50 for mot x 2

  3. Surely the MoT should be charged only once ? Even in today’s money grabbing climate, my MoT garage don’t charge for a failure even if they don’t fix it  Andy

  5. One of the better 21st century developments in battery technology in my view. It means I can power the (beer) fridge, my coffee machine, an electric kettle for tea, a microwave and an electric oil filled radiator in the folding camper when we are marshalling :D At the end of this season, several of the electric hook up distribution boxes on our campsite tripped out more than once, the solar panel will keep the inverter battery topped up during the day and keep the fridge ticking over. 6. IIRC, if it leaves the premises for repair they are entitled to charge; if they fix it on site then they can issue the MoT without a further test (and therefore without charge) as they have fixed the identified defect and know nothing else should have changed on it as it hasn’t left their hands.

  7. also - i can't remember if it was out of kindness or legal discretion, but i have many times taken a vehicle away to repair, as long as it's returned within a set time-period, and still only the one fee was applied - this may have changed now from a legal standpoint.

  8. By the end of the next working day is the period Chris. There’s a list of the bits it applies to on the Gov.uk website

  9. It used to be that if it was taken away for repair you had 2 weeks to return it to have the repairs checked and no further fee would apply
I don't know what the state of play is now

  18. Yeh the retake was free and apparently you get 10 days from the first test not including the day of the first test.

  20. Having endured the joys of the A3 J10 M25 works Mrs GG and I are now at Wisley for The Glow.

Why when those works were set up the HA didn’t make the outside lane a bypass lane I will never know or understand.
