  1. as Mervyn and Andy have said and linked, it's very similar to the mascot fitted to cars bodied by Swallow Coachbuilders that went on to become Jaguar. there were good copies also but there may be markings on it to help with this.

  3. Just been to see “Wicked” the movie at the cinema with Doris. :upyeah:

Booked the nice plush VIP seats……dead comfortable! :)

Fell asleep within 10 mins and woke up at the end of the film (2hrs 40mins long lol) :D

  5. Sounds like you dodged a bullet, from what I've heard. I'm impressed you managed to sleep through the racket, it's meant to be quite loud!

  6. Apparently it is quite loud.......but I can sleep on a washing line, so noise doesn't bother me :)

  9. Wife's birthday today, so we went for a nice walk this afternoon, found a cafe for lunch. We've got friends round tonight, but she's not really in the celebrating mood.

  10. Yesterday really took Son to Heathrow for his first experience of flying.

Today the airline have informed him they put his luggage in the Beijing part of the hold and not the Tokyo part. Hopefully they can correct their error for when he arrives in Japan.

This is his view for 18 hours.

  14. Long story, I will patch up the old one and keep it for a spare.

  15. Started looking at moving again. Had a move to the middle of the Peak District fall through 3 or 4 years ago and I think I’m ready to go through the ballache again.
Been keeping an eye on Right Move and my place will go on the market in the new year (which i'm dreading).
Ideally it will knock a large chunk off my mortgage but that’s not the motivating factor, the house or apartment and location has to be spot on first and foremost otherwise I’ll get bored within minutes of moving there.
Search area will be mainly around Castleton, Hope and Bamford but tempted to see a few places within Buxton, Whaley Bridge, Chapel-en-le-Frith (i.e. the larger towns).
My only criteria is a garage, a garden of sorts, off road parking and within an area where I don’t have to get in a car to take the dogs out every morning (oh and a pub within staggering distance!!).
If I don’t do it now I never will so fingers crossed.

  16. Buxton would be my choice.
The Spa town has lots going on, pubs, restaurants, opera house and Buxton fringe in the summer.
Its only an hour from Manchester/ Stockport and smack in the middle of Derbyshire AONB
I have friends there so visit a fair bit, in fact going this weekend.
