Our José Pizaro, finish at home, meal was awesome. Sadly a few Madris and a bottle of Pouilly Fume and I'm wrecked Happy new year everyone. Andy
After going to the opening of the new world trade centre in NY on New Year’s Eve a few years ago, we’ve decided that nothing will ever come remotely close, so always stay in for New Year’s Eve now.
Bought a Cote de Boeuf from the butchers earlier. Feeling stuffed now, and will be amazed if I’m still up at 10, let alone midnight!
Nearly had a head on with a plod car speeding on the wrong side of the road. Came over a peak on my side and both of us had to slam on our brakes. Not even an apology . How’s everyone else’s new year going?
We were going to have a walk, pub, walk, pub, walk, pub, dog walk but it's not stopped raining all day. Lit the fire, cooked some food, read my book.
Watching a few YouTubers review the Yamaha Niken as I’m very tempted to buy one for commuting as I’m sick of driving vans.
Spent the day watching films, had a few drinks, nothing crazy, bit of stodge to soak up yesterdays booze
Some good brownie points in the bank today. Fitted a bit of worktop in our spare bedroom for the wife's sewing machine etc. Also put up some twin slot adjustable shelving for all her sewing stuff. She's well happy. So am I as nothing has fallen down yet !.
Oh well done, I completely understand the motivation. Lady Nasher does lots of sewing, mainly making costumes for the school productions, but also makes stuff for herself and friends. To be honest I'm a little in awe of what she produces at times, including a couple of Wedding dresses and Prom Dresses for Friends daughters. We have one wall in our spare room piled with those 'Really useful Boxes' full of stuff, but it also completely takes over our dining room and sometimes part of the lounge when she's on a roll with costumes. I wish I could persuade her into the spare room to do it, but she likes to be downstairs where she can open the double doors between the dining room and lounge so she can see the TV and not be on her own upstairs. I'm very used to having bursts of Sewing machine noise in the background, which is only slightly annoying when reading, but on the rare occasion I'm trying to watch something on the TV it can grate a little.
Actually DS, I've often thought how useful it would be to know how to use a sewing machine, and be able to use it to a good standard. Lady N has shown me a couple of times, but it's one of those thing you need to spend a lot of time doing before becoming proficient. And of course the issue with doing anything with bike gear, or more likely stuff for my Boats, covers etc, is you need a really heavy duty machine.
