Well the good guy's at DMC Preston fitted my heated grips today (not before time). Arrived with frozen hands and left toasty warm down the M6. Cheers guys. Had a good ride today and the grips worked great. Nearly got took out by a van driver, he apologised profusely, but that's another story.
Removed the standard swingarm from the 784R and fitted the factory racing mag alloy swing arm complete by blocking the engine and lifting the frame up. Refitted the bottom part of the air box and remounted the throttle bodies and shower injectors. Should have asked a mate to help but never got round to it so I have to say it was a struggle but I didn't drop the bike off the blocks or bend or bash anything, even me. I'm fair bolloxed now so after a shower, off for an Indian supper with my girlfriend. Andy
On the plus side I got the MH out of the garage and fitted a new tax disc.I think I put it in the correct place!Fuelled her up and ran the engine up to working temp. She goes in for an Mot on tuesday so I will keep fingers crossed. On the minus side I fell off a chair I was standing on and fell onto a concrete floor-sods law I came down on my already injured right shoulder and dodgy right leg. What a mistake er to make.
Late waking up this morning so missed the 11am gathering at Newlands Corner. Went out on my Monster first to pick up my car tax at midday from the post office £140, a blast up to, and straight past(Lol) Whiteways and then on to Petworth and back home in a big loop. Put Monster away and dragged out the Fazer for a late afternoon ride up A24/A25 to Newlands Corner, bumped into Chris, Rob and Pete up there, had a chat and a coffee before a long dark COLD ride home to the South coast. Enjoyed today!
Stacked wood in the woodshed. Went foodie shopping in France where I bought a lot of fish (inc. a whole turbot currently in the oven), entrecôtes, Echiré butter, andouillettes, dried ham, top cheeses, some wine and other goodies. I like these forays into France.
I wouldn't mind a foray into France myself. Gonna have to wait though. Reckon an autumn blitz on the old Guzzi is a definite
Niet. All over now, the flood risk has gone I reckon. My shifty insurance claim for a new computer will have to wait a while longer...
Took son/daughter and nephew swimming this morning. Had lunch! washed one of the cars then went for a run to fradley this afternoon. Just watched the secret life of Walter Mitty while drinking a few Stella's. Very good film, well worth the watch.
Headlight & clutch springs fitted: I chopped over 2 meters out of the loom to fit it under the tank! More to go tomorrow, probably another 2 meters. Yorkie
Put rust cleaner on my chain and scrubbed it, cleaned bike top to bottom, got DR out for pics, found van battery too low to cold start it so put DR back in garage, cleaned car, decided feck it so rubbed down ready for part paint fairing and stick the lacquer on tank. Shame its all clouded ffs halfords shite!!
