Yep, that’s the one. I keep thinking how fun it would be on the RS, so will have to come back at some point, just to make sure.
I'd like to go back again one day too. Perhaps I will get down that straight and round the corner faster these days!
Today I told Doris I wanted to go to town to buy an extension lead. We’ll go to The Range she said………£360.05 later I’ve bought two fancy mirrors for the hallway, two pictures for the dining/family area, two new duvets with associated pillow slips, duvet covers and fitted sheets for 3 bedrooms………and I still didn’t buy an extension lead. FML
Next time take just enough cash for extension lead, then it’s Doris pays or is just browsing for household items.
Took the tram to Altrincham to celebrate a friends birthday. After a few pubs the destination was a Chinese pub/ restaurant called Harcourt. Opened by a recently influx of Hong Kongers and recommended by Jay Rayner in the Financial Times we thought we were in for a treat The hand pumped ales were off disappointing the camra members in our group, the service was atrocious, some were still waiting while others had finished and the food at best was bland. Won’t be rushing back any time soon.
It is a nice place to ride a bike. Slow down for the bridge, just before the Brighstone turning. It is brick and a slight kink in the road. The limit drops to 40 there - get that wrong and it will hurt big time. The bit of the Military Road from - the Brigstone turning - to Freshwater Bay is the best part IMHO. Then do a loop that goes from there along the Middle Road, Calbourne, that comes out at Carisbrooke Castle. I reckon there to be 2 dangers along there (as well as the normal dangers associated with road riding). 1. Heading East along the Middle (Calbourne) Road, in one place the road kinks left and the roads drops dramatically, the bike goes light and the road turns very quickly right again. If you do that much above the 60 limit the bike will not have settled before you have to make the right turn - and a big hello to the hedge and gate will result !! The other danger - a long straight near the Chessell junction. People use it as a chance to overtake slower moving vans, trucks. You might think you have a clear straight road and suddenly something quick appears from behind a van or a truck. My mum lives in Brighstone.
