I prefer them a bit more active and productive, to be honest. My gammy knee decided to swell up yesterday for reasons best known to itself, and it's still swollen today, so no gym. I did get as far a looking vaguely how to use SketchUp, which I need to design the cupboard under the wash basin. But it was a pretty vague look.
Left the bike at home and spent the day hang gliding over sunny Northants, first flight of the year and it was good to get my feet off the ground. All I need to do is get out on the bike tomorrow and its a perfect weekend, but this threads for today so will have to do a post tomorrow.
Took the diavel out earlier. Past the first service so stuff running it in any more, I'm thrashing it. Conclusion...... It's an animal! Pulls hard in any gear, looks so heavy but handles like a sports bike. Getting the itch to go on track again so might make an appearance at donnington some time. mowed the lawn, washed the cars and bike. Now demolishing a bottle of GreyGoose! I love this stuff, it's going to get me into trouble!
When that happens to me, karma usually bites me in the arse, I'll loose a titelist or top flight, and find a couple of manky range balls, or some god awful ancient thing with chunks out of it.
Crikey! On the first of March! Don't think my lawnmower will be out for another month at least. I have been tidying in the garden. It's a great time for eliminating things like brambles when the bastards are weak and unsuspecting and you can see them, there being no obstructive foliage. I have just been having a "pub lunch" at home (with Fuller's ESB) and am now about to fall off my ladder from a great height as I try to prune the rampant wisteria.
For the second time this year I was up at 230am to take people to the airport. You know what's worse than getting up at stupid o'clock to go on holiday? Getting up at stupid o'clock to take others to go on bloody holiday! Then, as the roads were quiet (funny old thing!) I did the 220 mile drive I'd have had to do later anyhow. Oh, I found my brand new Arai (bought yesterday!) has broken plastic bits. It's not even been within 100 miles of my bikes as yet!!!
Helped my next door neighbour fit new front and rear pads to his Moto Guzzi Stelvios, worked with my girlfriend to fit a Venture Shield kit to her Diavel and pissed the neighbours off because I couldn't resist firing up my track ready 748R that has new 50mm race Termignonis fitted . I know rdryder is on his way to Cartagena for the week coming but I've only got to wait for another 2 weeks and 6 days before we are off as well. Feeling like a kid about to be let in a sweet shop ? You had better believe it . Andy
Had a fabulous long weekend celebrating Mrs Mervyns birthday. My daughter came down and kept us in order. She made a smashing birthday cake which we had after a great Indian meal out.Sobering thought as I went out for a short walk with my daughter and had to ask her to slow down as I couldn't keep up,it would have been her asking me to slow down about 20 years ago. My family were quite amused when I switched the bread maker off instead of the kitchen cabinet lights, followed up by putting the dinner in the oven and forgetting to switch it on.These new meds I'm on are helping me but causing me to do some strange things-memory loss and losing track of what I am saying in the middle of a sentence.Mrs Mervyn says not to worry as 'if it's important it will come to you later':wink:It never does though.:frown:B......s,I will get another bike.
