Stoked up the Shitebird this afternoon. Trying to find anywhere in the UK to open up a litre bike is a waste of time; trying to do it in Surrey was never gonna happen. When I did find the space I was quickly reminded of the fact I've not ridden a proper fast bike for a few years...FOOK! That's what I love about bikes, first time out I'm crapping myself, by October I'll be scouring the internets for a turbo...
I actually took the 999 out yesterday, not because I wanted to (it was 8°c with a freezing north wind) but because it was dry and I know the bike wanted me to. Did a hasty 50 km, filled it with petrol and put it back in the garage. The battery will have appreciated it. It didn't look as if it wanted to start (hasn't been started for 2 months) so I bumped it down the hill. It's meant to get warmer here over the next few days. I might feel charitable and take it out again.
bit of snow today, i wont be out this week end, never mind theirs a bottle of chivas regal in my line of sight. so a sore head Sunday it is.
Dump the Chivas and get Johnnie Walker Black Label for the same money. A far superior, more interesting and tasty dram which has won more prizes over the years than any other whisky. It's what distillers drink.
will start dropping the hints now. cant remember the last time i bought a bottle, me customers are a generous bunch, keep me well oil'd.
It is incredible isn't it. A previous post meant I spent quite a lot of time up in Main Building and I went down there several times. I couldn't get over the fact it was there with a relatively modern building over it and most people have no idea it's there. In the centre of the main building are some historic meeting rooms, they're not as old but still amazing.
Another Baggies supporter??!! Surely not a Utd supporter? Wish I was going too but if I was expecting Mel to one day win a game I'm not sure that I'd bet on this one even if Utd this season are a shadow of their former selves.
My son's a Man U supporter, free tickets so should be a good day out, we don't have high expectations of Man U's performance though
This morning will be spent extricating the Triton from the garage, getting it on the drive, and then taking a load of pics to send to a guy up north who is interested, hopefully,in making an offer for it.This afternoon a guy might possibly come over to view it,I will not hold my breath. All this activity will do me in,so this evening will be spent resting, with a genteel game of cards with Mrs Mervyn.
Dropped the lad off for some paintballing now its a walk in the countryside....or Costa and a cake, whichever wins ;-)
Finally fixed the brake light staying on issue after 18 months of comments from those behind me. It appears it was the simple matter of the lever that pushes the micro switch on (off!) only making intermittent contact* Topped the tyres up; quick polish and a start to warm the bike up after 4 months (no problem whatsoever). Now smiling, although actually getting to ride would be the ideal. * i am using the Austin Racing / DP Brake levers (they are the same item), not the OEM that came with the bike.
Resigned from job, resurrected old band, booked tkts to The Commitments, again, walked the dog, remembered what it's all about; well that's this week but I have a few days to catch up on!
Me too. Two for one Mojitos for 50 Nicaraguan Córdobas is a bad recipe: thats about 60p each... And a hangover in 30+ degrees is not a great combo either!!
