Just got back from my day on test bikes. Will write a review in a bit before I go out for a curry and a beer
Had a pleasant amble cross country to castle combe, and back again. Chilly but got rid of a few cob webs. Nice yellow 748 at the combe.
Today I done cut all the grass (well, not all of it, but the grass at my house) and I am now pretty much K&N Ackered....... ............wondered why the mower was very noisy........apart from the engine only being held on by one bolt it was also more or less devoid of oil..............Ducati sump oil to the rescue.
Today I wheeled the MH out of the garage and checked the tyres. The front was very low and the back was a bit down.I have one of those electric pump things,so it was easy to put the tyres right. It has got a tank of petrol so I am planning my escape.I have been under house arrest all week whilst I get used to my new meds.I have to plan the taking of them, certainly not before a bike ride.I can't wait to go for a ride, even a short one.Perhaps tomorrow.Mrs Mervyn has just informed me that we are having a dirty weekend in Brighton, involving drugs, booze, sexChecking the details more closely it appears it coincides with the weekend of the Brighton Speed Trials
I was planning to buy an Indian scooter until I found out that they come without a few bits (like a front wheel)
so thats the end of the week that was. got more done today than i have all week. as its gonna pish down the morra i have just pored my self a large one.
Worked today, got away from the office at 3.00 and drove down to Dartmouth for a weeks holiday with the family, arrived about an hour ago at a stunning modern apartment with views over the River Dart, kids are more excited about the Sky Sports and broadband!, forecast is good for the week, just settling down with a fresh copy of Practical Sportsbikes, large glass of Pinot and looking forward to a well earned rest.
Finally got out on the bike, first ride this year. Into Fowlers for some breakfast, well lunch really, admired the MT09, seat height was good for me which is the first tick in the box I have to have. However, don't want to sell any of mine. Looped back home over the Mendips. watched the Bath v Gloucester rugby match, good result for Bath and very entertaining in the last 10 mins. Walked the dog now watching the Mash film (whilst browsing this site and others).
I'm currently admiring the MT07 lovely little bike, fits me like a Saville Row suit. Might just have to buy one!
I came very close to buying the MT03 about 5 years ago. Bought the 749 and diversion instead. I like all the MT range to dare.
Dragged the Guzzi out of the shed to give the engine a good scrub... Then went down the pub, obviously
