  1. Finally got round to swapping the alloys on the car to these shiny 20" jobbies.

  2. Fitted a Sprint high flow air filter to the 1200s Multistrada after dismantling half of the front of the bike to get to where it is fitted. Also tried to sus out if I can refit the R&G crash bungs I had to remove to fit the Ducati crash bars. And the answer is ..............no. R&G threads are metric coarse and yes you guessed it, the Ducati threads are metric fine. Still I know a mate with a lathe and perhaps he can turn me up something. Andy

  3. Made the fatal mistake of going into my local Ducati dealer and asking about an 899. I have to convince myself that I don't really want one when the dealer rings me on Monday !!!

  4. Spent the day at Silverstone watching the Bemsee club racing. Really good to watch this stuff and mix in with the riders and spannermen in the pits. I also watched a mate's mechanic's young son come second in a mini twins race; having a connection always makes for exciting racing.

  5. Finally sorted my broken rearset, heat and lump hammer failed so grinder (not the phone app ;) ) and disc cutter at the ready, trial and error and seems to be tight and functioning again. Then some f'glass repair on the small broken fairing and it just needs oil change and starting then I can book track time again!

  7. Today my wife and I have been looking after my 2yo grandson all day. We've been to Manchester on the train (Percy on the way there, and James on the way back apparently ;) ).

We had lunch in Yo! Sushi, which was very pleasant and the food was good. We then splashed in puddles when we walked about doing nothing in particular. :)

We then went back and grandson and I went to sleep for an hour before we then went out to meet #1 son, wife and youngest grandson for something to eat in the pub local to #1 son's house. It was nice food, and it was nice to see a very busy pub for a change.

We're now home and laughing at the Eurovision Song Contest. It doesn't get any better than today :upyeah:

  10. Perhaps it rained yesterday.........and not today.

  11. I went to Manchester once.

    I'll stick with London, ta.

  12. Having been numerous times to both Manchester and London, I'm sticking with Wiltshire.

Back on track, so to speak I'm post 50th birthday party so I'm delicate and wondering whether to start fitting all the lovely carbon fibre from Conquest that my friends bought for me. The look on some of the girls faces who had chipped in to the present was priceless.

Hoping to start the day with a traditional fry up.

  13. Picked up 999 after its big service and took the long way home over a mountain pass. Wot a fine bike it is. Not far from home had an amusing "race" with a Toyota Starlet, I think it was. It was ancient, its red paint had all gone matt, its black plastic bumper was now grey. But it went like no Toyota Starlet you've ever seen. God knows what motor the guy had put in it and I couldn't make up anything in the corners either though its wheels looked normal. It took a long straight to re-establish Ducati hegemony. I thought it was very funny. Strangely, the next car I caught up with was a spotless Shelby Mustang and you don't see many of those about here. Sadly the owner was on the brakes at every opportunity and totally failed to exploit his wonderful motor. He'd have been blown into the weeds by the Starlet had it not turned off shortly after I overtook it.

  14. Come off it. I used to visit and stay in Swindon regularly for about three years. ;)

Me too. Best meal of the day!

  15. Been struck down with 'the flu of man'

Well a really shitty cold at least so will have to let the boys play on their own today

    Bummer :(

  16. Done some carbon wrapping rather than pay a grand for the real stuff. Never done it before n was crapping myself when using the scalpel incase I nicked the original trim. This should stop the sun reflecting off the original trim and blinding me from now on :upyeah:

  17. Out pootling on the bike.

  18. I've put the tax disc on the bike and laid on the sofa the rest of the time, as it's been pissing down most of the day here.

Just watched the Manchester City game too.

  19. Finally pulled down the shed that was quietly rotting at the bottom of the garden. Part of the preparation for my new fencing later this year.

Six months of getting fit in Qatar helped a lot with that :)

  20. gardening for mum! :( pissing it down n all. ah well, back onto evil and get my own back. one good turn...
