My father gave me the family collection of medals to take up the mantle of caring for them. Quite a haul including a military medal from WW1. (A bravery medal, not a campaign medal.) 1919 The Great War, 1945 The Second World War, 2010 The War in Afghanistan. Too bad you only get one medal no matter how many times you go to Afghan. I'm a few short compared to my forefathers. Still, I'm very proud to descend from such men.
I drove to Birmingham in the pissing rain, stood on a roof in the pissing rain, then drove home soaked to the skin in the pissing rain. Stopped at Halfords to get some new wiper blades before the squeaking drove me mad - guess what, It stopped raining
I went in the office this morning. Went to a meeting in Ilkley this afternoon. Now home feeling knackered. Got my old man's funeral tomorrow. Not looking forward to it
