Emptied two tanks of fuel on 300 miles on my bike, good laugh, met some new people, pulled my best wheelie in ages
Scrubbed in a set of new supercorsas. Couple of hundred miles later... I love new tyres. 2 convex plates cured grabby clutch. Sweet. Adjusted rear sets. But now I need to readjust gear lever. Going to move to race shift full time. Why is oem 1d/5u? Anyone?
Picked up my pani r after 1st service rode home with wife on her v4 aprilia she says keeps up with pani easy eh???
Gardened all day and then had a BBQ. No chance of getting out on the bike but at least I came home from work yesterday like a loon on it as thunder clouds were threatening. As if I needed an excuse.
bit of quad biking with we man, got the 848 home maybe ullapool the morra for a chippy at the seaforth.
Had a ride out to Shaftesbury, up zig-zag hill and through tollard royal and back home, liking the new metzelers
Spent the day in intensive care with my dad but he didn't make it through the day. He knew I was going to the TT and the last coherent thing he said to me the night before last was to go enjoy myself as he didn't want me staying behind on his account. So I'm off this afternoon with my mate but with mixed emotions...
Thanks. He was the funniest bloke I knew. Something tells me the funeral is going to be standing room only.
I was doing sarf London back to zummerset ( again) and there were some interesting groups of bikes -one bunch of 'elderly' French Harley warriors on tour, made me smile.
My mate and his fiancé hit a deer on their way home last night, leaving them with two holes in the radiator where a couple of mounting lugs broke off. I went out and rescued them with a tube of superglue and two pennies! The best bit is not only that it's the second time in 9 days I've got a pug 206 home this way, but that the glued on pennies held for about 20 miles getting them home with no further coolant loss (opened expansion tank cap so no pressure built)
And two venison steaks for tea....... Some venison mince for a quality couple of burgers? Hope your mate-passenger weren't too shocked, hitting a deer is a big unit.......
I holed a radiator in my Capri in Switzerland back in the day. A combination of araldite and lead weights off a lorry wheel got it going again and the European tour was back on!
Would you believe some fecker in a transit stopped, lobbed the deer in the back of their van and sodded off. The only person who stopped to check if they were ok was a baseball cap type lad in a chavved out civic. Ian and Emma were ok, bit shaken but calm enough to get home with me following. Emma works for the police, so we were lucky enough to have an escort some of the way home too.
sorry to hear comfy, you can take some comfort/pride in the fact your father was a popular man. there was a story a few years back when a biker got knocked of his bike by a deer on the inverrary to dalmalli rd, wrote off his bike and then sent a bill by the local council for the clean up and disposal of said deer. caused a bit of an outcry at the time. today i have woken up on the couch with a mild hangover which has scuppered my plan for a blast up to ullapool for a chippy, so gonna go for a shorter run later, traffic cops have been out on mass of late but you never see them on the oban lochgilpead road which is a belter.. probably do that one.
Took advantage of the great weather and popped down on the bike to Abingdon for some breakfast, loads of bikes on the road mainly "Hardley Able To's" for the ride for respect which is happening today, off now to a family BBQ, so should be a good day.
Had a nice run out to Goodwood, bumped into Count and co, slightly longer run back. Nice pleasant easy run. Then got buzzed by arthuerbikemad on 272 when I was trundling along...there are not many I come across that I don't catch thru fast corners but full concentration was needed to keep up Now for some chores
