  3. Yesterday we went for a walk in Matlock Bath and played in the kids playground. Then we went to Gullivers Kingdom and later on had a fish and chip supper back in Matlock Bath. Great day!

  7. Lazy day for me, bit of bike faffing and booked a cheeky last minute day at Oulton :upyeah: Just hope it doesn't thrash it down now :/

  8. Whilst the rest went off to Port Aventura to play on the rides, I took the train into Barcelona and reacquainted myself with Bar Lobo behind the Hotel 1898 at the top of the Ramblas. If you ever find yourself in Barcelona, I can highly recommend this bar, it has great atmosphere, great food and certainly one of the prettiest girls I can ever remember being served by. (Yes I'm sorry but I'm too old to change my recidivist ways and I've been a dirty old man for some years now) Thin slices of Aubergine lightly battered, deep fried and served with a drizzle of dark honey and fresh clams from the Bocceria with fried sweet garlic. All washed down with a local chilled beer or 2. Life don't get much better than this but unfortunately it will be back to reality all too soon, 3 1/2 days to be exact. Andy

  9. Jane Austen house Chawton 18-08-14 a.jpg
Took my Multi to Snells for a 7,500 service yesterday. They were extremely efficient and obliging. I shall definitely go there again. While I was in Alton, I took the opportunity to visit Jane Austen's house at Chawton which is only a couple of miles away - here is a photo I took there. The house, the garden, and the Austen memorabilia are delightful.

  10. Though I was planning a lazy day we took the opportunity to go to Ashbourne and Dovedale this afternoon. I'd never been to Dovedale before, though SWMBO had been there as a 6 year old and had walked the stepping stones then. It's gorgeous there. And I'd forgotten how lovely and quaint Ashbourne was. :)

  11. Lazy day!!! Thought that was every day ET

  15. I've got some of that, I found the knee armour uncomfortable on my way back from Italy. After 5 or 6 hours it gave me pressure pain like kneeling on a stone!

  16. Spot on Nick. The original Rukka stuff hurt my knee joints, it was that inflexible.
Hoping the D30 will be better :)

  17. Went to Waddington on the 1098 to watch the 2 Lancasters fly in. It was absolutely heaving. Then rode down to Conningsby. Was busy there too. Quite a variety of planes coming and going old and new topped off by the lancasters and Vulcan flying over on there way south

  18. We've done absolutely bot all. Well apart from fed the chickens and the shetland ponies with the grandchildren, collected some fresh eggs, did a bit of work, fannied about on the internetz and slept.

    Good times. :)

  19. I had to explain myself to her for staring, a picture would probably of got me a slap or more likely ejected and the beer was far too good for that to happen. Andy
